Avatar: The Battle for Pandora is JJP’s 2024 release, by new designer Mark Seiden. Based on the events of the first Avatar film and its sequel, The Way of Water, the player becomes a Na’vi and braves the wilds of the Pandoran forests while facing off against the RDA, an organization bent on destroying any remnants of the Na’vi’s kind.

Skill Shots:
Plunge the ball to any of these shots to increase the meuia added to that shot for the rest of the ball by +1. Each award also has a super skill shot bonus, which extends the ball save timer and gives a specific award listed in parentheses.
- Left outlane (adds a kickback light)
- Left inlane (lights a lane award)
- Spider target (increases scoring during Spider sivako mode)
- Scoop (starts crab suit battle)
- Left orbit - lockup (locks a ball for A1 multiball)
- Left orbit - tulkun shot
- Home tree VUK (lights mystery)
- Reverse scoop (spots 3 bond combos)
- AMP suit slingshot - center targets (increases scoring during A1 multiball)
- AMP suit slingshot - high camp
Press the action button to enable super skill shot at any of these options. If the button is not pressed, the super skill shot will rove around the playfield instead.
Sivako Modes:
“Sivako” is Na’vi for “rise to the challenge”. Though it might be simple to accept a challenge and fail it, those who successfully complete what they started are strongly rewarded with meuia, or honor.
There are eight major shots around the playfield that start Sivako modes when hit three times. Sivako modes are not mutually exclusive for the most part; they can be played alongside any multiball mode but can otherwise not be stacked with songcord modes.
During Sivako modes, every lit shot made enables the action button to replenish arrows (flashing green). Quickly mash the action button to maintain your multiplier.
Completing any Sivako mode will award a time bonus based on how much time was remaining in the mode before it was completed. They cannot be repeated until all eight have been played, but completing the three shots while a mode isn’t available to start will instead award 5 **[meuia](#heading–
Two milestones can be earned from Sivako modes: one from completing one successfully, and another from playing all eight.
- Spider: Started at the Spider target. Hit the flashing shots to resist the RDA’s control - you can’t hit the same shot more than once and these include the RDA ramp and any ramp or VUK at the top left. Mode ends in victory once the player has survived 30 seconds.
- RDA: Started at the left ramp. Shoot the home tree VUK, reverse scoop, or raised scoop ramp from the upper flipper to mine resources, with the latter shot scoring amrita for 2x value & progression. Mode ends in success after five shots to any lane.
- Omatikaya: Started at the left orbit. Shoot the roving shot that moves from left to right and back. Hit the roving shot two times to complete.
- Tree of Souls: Started at the upper left ramp. Switch frenzy - collect 250 woodsprites by shooting everything to complete.
- Metkayina: Started with 3 shots to the mini-loop from the upper flipper. Combo off of any ramp shot into the lowered scoop ramp (dive shot). The same ramp cannot be shot to set up more than one combo. Two combos to complete.
- Tulkun: Started with 3 shots to the tulkun ramp (can only be hit when the scoop ramp is raised up). All shots build up a jackpot that can be collected at the same shot that was used to start the mode. Flashing shots add 2x their value to the jackpot.
- Dive: Started with 3 shots to the raised scoop ramp from the lower flippers. Shoot the lowered scoop ramp (dive shot) to collect 30 bumper hits in 30 seconds to complete.
- Rookery: Started at the right orbit. Keep the ball airborne for as long as possible by hitting ramps or other shots that feed wireforms. Mode ends after approx. four aerial shots.
Songcords:
Songcords are essentially necklaces that reflect the life experiences of the Na’vi. They are comprised of several “tokens” representing locations or characters.
In Avatar: The Battle of Pandora, each shot represents a certain token. Once enough tokens have been found, the left scoop will light to start a songcord mode based on the found tokens. If a token of a certain type is given that you don’t want, press the action button to scrap the token; the first time this occurs during a game the player will be prompted to press it.
The token types are represented by the key below.
Tokens & abbreviations
Token | Abbreviation | Shot |
---|---|---|
Spider | S | Spider target |
RDA | RDA | Left ramp |
AMP Suit | AMP | Left scoop |

During songcord modes, every lit shot made enables the action button to replenish arrows (flashing green). Quickly mash the action button to maintain your multiplier.
Complete any songcord mode to award a letter in PANDORA. There are also four milestones, two per songcord mode set: one for winning the first mode of a set, and one for playing three modes in the same set.
Omatikaya Songcord (A1 Modes):
These songcords are based on the first Avatar film.
- First Encounter (RDA + J)
- Viperwolves (RF + J)
- Thanator Chase (RDA + RF + J)
- Banshee Rookery (HT + J + HM + RK): Collect 25 spins at the right ramp, then right orbit; then any ramp shot to fly. Final shot at home tree VUK.
- Blue Flute Clan (O + TOS + HT + RF + J): Alternate between left and right shots. The same shot cannot be made twice.
- Jake’s Training (O + RF + HC + J + HM)
- First Flight (J + HM + RK)
- Last Shadow (RF + J + HM + RK)
- Willow Glade Destruction (RDA + O + TOS + HC + J)
- Assault on Hometree (RDA + AMP + O + HT): Shoot the home tree VUK, then reverse scoop, then (?)
- Preamble to Battle (O + TOS + RF + J): Hit the left orbit and upper loop, one time each. Then upper left ramp to complete.
Metkayina Songcord (A2 Modes):
These songcords are based on the second Avatar film.
- Maglev Raid (RDA + O + RF + J + K)
- High Value Prisoners (S + RDA + AMP + HC + J + K): The two center targets and far right target are lit. Complete all three to light all major shots for 8 hits to complete. The same shot cannot be hit more than once in a row.
- Uturu (O + J + M + RK + K)
- Learning to Dive (M + D + K): Hit the dive shot, followed by either the left or right crab suit target on the lower playfield. Two sequences complete the mode.
- Going Na’vi (S + RDA + AMP + RK): AMP suit slingshot starts a hurry-up at the right orbit to complete the mode. If it times out, hit the slingshot again to relight it.
- A Warrior’s Mount (J + M + D)
- Nalutsa Attack (M + TK + D + K): Hit the lowered scoop ramp to raise it, then shoot the dive shot. Hit the middle bumper target followed by the flashing orbits on the crab suit playfield. Then hit the tulkun shot to finish.
- The Outcast (TK + D + K): Hit the dive shot, then left ramp, then raised scoop ramp from upper flipper to complete.
- Ta’Unui Torching (RDA + AMP)
- Amrita (RDA + AMP + TK)
- Payakan Hunt (S + RDA + AMP + TK + K)
Multiballs:
Both multiballs cannot be stacked with each other, but can be stacked with Sivako or songcord modes.
Though both multiballs have different display animations, they behave the same way. All shots are lit to qualify the jackpot at a flashing red shot lit in the order described below, and add-a-ball is enabled at each jackpot shot after collecting 10 other lit shots, indicated by a flashing red / green insert. Hitting any lit shot also allows the player to gather any lost arrows by mashing the action button.
The jackpot sequence is as follows: Jake / Neytiri targets, reverse scoop, scoop, home tree VUK, spider target, RDA ramp for super jackpot.
Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains (A1 Multiball):
Light the lock at the infinity mirror by completing Jake & Neytiri’s center targets. The ball can then be locked at either the left orbit, upper loop, or right orbit (the number of shots lit for lock decrease over subsequent multiballs). You can also lock balls with lucky orbit shots that bounce into the infinity mirror lockup (near the top of the left orbit), or super skill shots to that lockup. Lock 3 balls to start the multiball.
There are 3 stages of the multiball - each time you lock all 3 balls, the next stage will start in order.
Scoring a super jackpot during this multiball awards a PANDORA letter.
Milestones are awarded for completing 1 stage, or playing all 3 stages of this multiball.
Battle of Awa'Atlu (A2 Multiball):
Hit either lowered scoop ramp entrance (from either the lower or upper flipper) to raise the scoop ramp & enable the dive shot. When the scoop ramp is raised, shooting it from the lower flippers will send balls to the lower playfields. First, the player must use the flippers to complete the targets above the Pandora reef pop bumper. Once they have been completed, the ball will drain to the second playfield where they must defeat RDA’s crab suit using the flippers, with both direct target shots and orbit hits. Once defeated, the multiball will start.
The first crab suit requires approx six target hits; the second requires 12 and a shot to both orbits; the third requires 18 and two shots to both orbits.
There are 3 stages of the multiball - each time you defeat the crab suit, the next stage will start in order.
Scoring a super jackpot during this multiball awards a PANDORA letter.
Milestones are awarded for completing 1 stage, or playing all 3 stages of this multiball.
Other Scoring:
Lane Awards:
The inlanes and outlanes can be lit for awards that cycle with the flippers when lit. To light a lane award, either make a skill shot to the left inlane, or complete the four “kids” targets on the far right of the playfield. Multiple lane awards can be lit at a time.
From left to right, the four lane awards are:
- Left Hand Combo: Hit as many shots using the left flipper as possible. The score exponentially increases with each shot made. Hitting the right flipper at any time cashes out the combo score.
- Max Toxin: Instantly boosts the arrow multiplier to its max of 4x for the next event.
- Unlimited Arrows: For the next event started, the player has unlimited arrows and thus the event multiplier never decreases. Unlimited arrows must be requalified for each new event started, but carries over if modes and multiballs are stacked.
- Skill Save: Lights a random shot to save the ball, if the player can hit it in under 10 seconds. This can range from easy shots like the home tree VUK to more difficult ones like the raised scoop ramp.
Arrows (Event Multipliers):
Hitting ramps that feed the left or right inlane will add arrows that increase the multiplier on all scores for the next “event”, ie. the next mode of any type. The maximum event multiplier is 4x. You can also gather arrows during Sivako modes or songcord modes by making the flashing shots, and then mashing the action button (lit green) to collect them, even if they are stacked with a multiball.
While arrows are active, every flip counts! Each flip fires an arrow and once the current arrows on the inlanes have been depleted, the event multiplier will decrease by 0.25x. Well-timed, accurate flips are required to make the most out of multiplied scoring from arrows.
Two lane awards can make it easier to take advantage of arrows. “Max Toxin” at the left inlane maxes out the multiplier at 4x instantly, while “Unlimited Arrows” at the right inlane allows the player to take advantage of the multiplier without worrying about their flip counter and activates on the next event started.
Meuia Award (Honor):
Meuia increases by 1 every time a shot is made over the course of the ball, though skill shots can increase the meuia earned from certain shots by +1 for the remainder of the ball. Hitting the shot that started a Sivako mode 3 times after completing one, or shooting the high camp upper loop shot, will increase meuia by +5. After enough honor has been earned, the home tree VUK will light to collect a Meuia award.
Meuia awards all of the following, based on the thresholds listed below, but once the award has been scored, the player must collect the required amount of meuia to light it again (ie. they can’t collect duplicates of the same award in one shot).
- 7 Meuia: +1x bonus
- 8 Meuia: spot songcord token
- 12 Meuia: big points (1M)
- 15 Meuia: tilt warning added
- 25 Meuia: collect bonus
- 25 Meuia: advance PANDORA
- 50 Meuia: light extra ball
- 100 Meuia: start eclipse
Eywa Award (Mystery):
Shots to the two targets flanking the Tree of Souls shot (upper left ramp) add letters to EYWA. Once EYWA is completed with four target hits, the upper left ramp will be lit for a mystery award.
Mystery can award any of the following with limitations based on what modes are currently running:
- Start a random Sivako mode that hasn’t been played yet
- Start a random songcord mode that hasn’t been played yet
- Advance A1 multiball (either locks ball, or lights lock)
- Start A1 multiball
- Qualify crab suit battle
- Start A2 multiball
- Light lane award
- Add 10 meuia
- Spot 3 bond combos
- Advance PANDORA
- Light extra ball
- Add tilt warning
Eclipse:
On Pandora, an eclipse happens once per day, causing the planet to completely change in lighting and atmosphere.
Switch hits advance the time of day on Pandora. Once the eclipse starts, the playfield lighting will immediately dim, and all shots & targets are lit to increase the value of the eclipse jackpot that can be scored with a strong shot to the right ramp, for as long as the eclipse is running. The eclipse jackpot also accounts for scoring during other events like songcord modes and multiballs, and incorporates a percentage of each award scored during concurrently active events.
Collecting eclipse jackpots worth at least 5M are one way to award PANDORA letters. However, only one letter can be earned per eclipse.
Bond Combos:
Shoot shots in quick succession to establish bonds with Pandoran wildlife. There are eight unique bonds to find, one per shot lit for bond (which includes any ramp or orbit excluding the high camp loop, or lowered scoop ramp).
Once all eight have been found, combo into the scoop to collect the bond jackpot worth the total value of each bond combo x the number of times they were made + a PANDORA letter.
Kickback:
There are three ways to light the left outlane kickback:
- Score a super skill shot at the left outlane. Adds one kickback light (ie. one use of the kickback, these can be stacked).
- Play a Sivako mode or songcord mode. Each one played adds one kickback light.
- Light a lane award and roll over the left outlane when lit for left hand combo. This saves the ball even if kickback isn’t lit there.
Milestones:
Earn milestones to add to end-of-ball bonus. Once all 10 milestones have been collected, the final wizard mode, Oel Ngati Kameie (I See You), can be started.
The 10 milestones are as follows:
- Complete a Sivako mode
- Play all eight Sivako modes
- Complete an Omatikaya Songcord mode
- Play three Omatikaya Songcord modes
- Complete a Metkayina Songcord mode
- Play three Metkayina Songcord modes
- Score a super jackpot during Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains
- Play all three stages of Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains
- Score a super jackpot during Battle of Awa’Atlu
- Play all three stages of Battle of Awa’Atlu
(Milestones are currently not implemented.)
Extra Balls:
Extra ball is lit at the home tree VUK by:
- Cashing in 50 meuia
- Rare mystery award
- Collecting three PANDORA letters
- Making enough tulkun ramp shots (starts at 5)
End-of-Ball Bonus:
Wizard Modes:
Eywa'Eveng (Pandora Wizard Mode):
Spell PANDORA to light this wizard mode at the left scoop.
PANDORA letters can be earned in several ways:
- Complete a Sivako mode
- Complete a songcord mode
- Score a super jackpot during any stage of either multiball mode
- Rare Eywa award
- Cash out 25 meuia
- Collect 5M+ from an eclipse jackpot (limit: one per eclipse)
- Collect a bond jackpot
Eywa’Eveng is a difficult multiball wizard mode with a short ball save at the start. The player has seven tasks to complete two times each, as listed from the display from left to right:
- Hit center targets 2 times
- Collect 3 tokens (rainbow shots)
- Collect 10 meuia (hit lit shots)
- Hit either target near the left ramp
- Complete a set of lit lower playfield shots
- Collect 2 bond combos, then the bond jackpot at the scoop
- Hit the lowered scoop ramp from both sides
Each task completed scores a jackpot and lights a PANDORA letter. Light all seven letters to score a super jackpot worth the jackpot total and reset the process.
Oel Ngati Kameie (I See You Wizard Mode):
Complete all 10 milestones to light this wizard mode at the left scoop.
(Currently not implemented.)
