Word is sterns board is DOA because of DMCA.

So alliexpress seems to be the only option for the foreseeable future.

Has anyone resolved the “blanking/glitching” problem experienced with the AliExpress LVDS to HDMI convertor board? I saw it mentioned a couple of times earlier in this thread, but never saw any resolutions or replies to it. I just jumped into this particular pool a few days ago with the arrival of this board from Hong Kong and have encountered this issue trying to drive the screen from my BKSOR to OBS. Every once in a while (18-24 times in a 10 minute video test), the output from the LVDS to HDMI board will glitch and/or blank for 1 to 2 seconds and then recover (the pin screen via the passthru connector is always fine…the glitch is on board output to the PC) . I’ve tried 5 different capture cards. I got this rather quick response from the board vendor, but I’m afraid it doesn’t do much good:

"That blank out is because the LVDS output signal of the motherboard is unstable and the frequency is not fixed, so please close the LVDS signal spreading function and turn on the FREERUN fixed frequency function on your motherboard."

So…that ain’t happening on a Stern MPU.

Anybody else run into this and overcome it?

Have you tried a magewell encoder?

No matter what I through at magewell it works.

But I’ve also found that the signal out of the LVDS to HDMI device in the HDMI cable isn’t great and prone to interference. Check you don’t have anything that could interfere with it and take the HDMI cable out of the top of the machine. I have the odd glitch on my LVDS outputs but it’s rare.

@tazmo72 had similar advice with interference possibly being the issue. When he ran the hdmi out the topper holes it worked. When running it past the power supply it would glitch. I honestly have not retried.

I’ve been having a lot of glitches from AIQ and it turned out to be a low quality (but still expensive!) HDMI cable.

Once I switched to out the topper hole, I havent had any problem on Iron Maiden, Jurassic Park, and now, Deadpool

Oh I know a lot of folks who got in the flipnout rush and they work well.

It baffles me as to why stern hasn’t released them. I have cash burning a hole in my pocket!

Hello i want to share my experience, i got TMNT and Munsters.
first i got the 2nd revision of the geekworm board.
all revisions can be seen here:

i got the one with 2 for two lvds cables and the jumper to set for single and dual mode.
S-LH1080P-AUDIO-V20
The board is working, but had a lot of blackouts. most of the time when hitting the left ramp.
Better, shorter Cable, other cable way did nothing to reduce the blackouts.

then i got the newest release:
Latest V1.5 Version(Third Generation): Release at May 10th 2021. of the board.
this one, only has one lvds interface. I played now around 2 hours and had no blackouts. Single mode can be set by jumper on board. But to use the internal Stern Monitor you need an additional lvds splitter.

sorry not until now. i have the items lying around and will test over this weekend.
I had back in my mind to try this out. Very interesting if its the board in itself or just the splitting on the board messing everyting up.

some update on the new boards, i still got some black outs. But much less. In an 1hour stream it was about 2-3 times. very short, no wrong colors. Picked up very fast.
