NW Pinball Championships 2022

Rolling a game is about the only time in competitive pinball where the player gets to brag without really bragging. Heck with just the scorekeeper, I’m yelling ROLLING!!! very loud for everyone to hear. Go ahead and let everyone know. You get a free pass to brag. Take advantage of it and let everyone in the room know just how well you’re playing. They can’t get mad at you. You’re just following the rules.

WE NEED YOU! Really, we cannot run a successful event without the support of our volunteers.

This year for Northwest Pinball Championships 2022 we need scorekeepers and people to help setup/tear down games and streaming equipment.

You can earn $20 toward entries (Open, Classic, High Stakes or Womens) for each 2 hours block of volunteering and do it as much as you like/want.

Please write your name on the Google sheet below or reach out directly to me by email-

We have sent important information by email yesterday to all registered attendees. Please make sure to check your Junk folder (Gmail love to put our emails in there…).

Review our host location COVID policy closely as we are mandated to enforce it by contract.

Come and join us for our pre tournament at The Ice Box Arcade the night before our tournament on THURSDAY 8th.
We will be running a Matchplay style pre-tournament (get them IFPA points!).

Entry Fee $10 per player. Registration starts at 7:30pm, closes at 7:55pm, start at 8:00pm SHARP.
More details: http://tinyurl.com/nwpc2022

Each tournament will have a guaranteed minimum 8 free entry cards (6 for the Open, 1 for Women and 1 for High stake event) as well as $50 of cash prizes. Over all for the different tournaments, that is a total of over 64 cards (minimum guaranteed) for the series (>$1,400 of free entries awarded)! Over $2,000 with cash, raffle and swag prizes.

See you there!

Nice too see Robert’s smiling mug in the background. Dude looks like he’s at home, which he kinda is. Congrats to Escher and all the other winners. Some day I’ll get back to this event.

THANK YOU! Once again our event would not happen without the support from many MANY people, or without players trusting our event and come participate!

We had 119 players in the OPEN tournament this year, that is growth of 10% since our last event in 2019 3 years ago.

37 Women participated in the CARD qualifying tournament this year, a near 70% INCREASE since 2019. CLASSIC continue to be very popular with 121 players.
HIGH STAKES also saw an increase of over 50% since 2019, making this our 3rd certified event of the competition.
The Revenger Sunday Classic tournament did not have any issue selling out with 40 players going for prizes, WPPRs and a cool trophy!

Special thanks for all our local people from the greater Seattle area but also people from Oregon, British Columbia, Idaho, California, Colorado, Nevada, Ohio, Illinois, Alberta…!

This year we had over 650 card entries were played in the OPEN tournament, the Classic games were around 350 games played per machine in average, with the Women around 120 games and High stake bank around 160 games per machine combined.

That is a mind boggling 6,900 games of pinball played during qualifying, an increase of over 10% from 2019, more than 4.4 games per minutes!

Due to generosity of our sponsor and growth in attendance our cash prizes paid over $25,000 this year, a substantial increase from last year! We brought in over $3,000 after expenses as the tournament opened. That is on top of the trophies, plaques, rent, moving expenses, etc…

Top 4 prizes in OPEN were $2,800 for 1st, $1,600 for 2nd, $1,100 for 3rd and $850 for 4th.
Classics top 4 prizes were $1,800 for 1st, $1,400 for 2nd, $1,000 for 3rd and $750 for 4th.
The Women paid out $700 for 1st, $450 for 2nd, $300 for 3rd and $200 for 4th.
High stakes paid out $2,700 for 1st, $1,700 for 2nd, $1,100 for 3rd and $500 for 4th.

We welcome any feedback and comments to make this event better every year (info@nwpinballchamps.com). We will also be sending anonymous survey to those who would like to provide feedback. We strive to do our best with our limited resource and volunteers dedicating them precious free time to others, with that said we hope everyone has fun!

Of course, this could not have happened without all our INCREDIBLE volunteers, sponsors and partners. I am always worried to call out people by name as there has been SO MANY people helping the core NWPC organizing team (you know who you are!). Our incredible pinball moving team, Danger Dan and Eric Morales, Richie, Matt, Michael R., Ashley, Stephen and Garrett with set up on Thursday, Ashley and Michael R. even coming back on Monday to help us load back in. Michelle and the Tibbetts family for running the registration desk and much more all week. Alexa and Max coming to our rescue on the desk as well which is key for a well run event. Misa helping out at the desk and score keeping. Karl for his tournament software and support during the whole weekend, ALL the scorekeeper volunteer, including last minute people helping out, even volunteer adding more shifts to help filling the gap in scorekeeper, you rock!

Massive kudos to GeekGamer.TV, returning for our 3rd year and always bringing professional level quality! Getting even better than the previous years and with high quality coverage!

We really on generous local collector to loan us game for our events, this could not happen without them either, thank you!

BIGGEST THANKS to Lynnwood Bowl and Skate to accommodate us against this year. There was no short of compliments from the players on the location and the staff! It is hard thinking of running our event anywhere else now. They were very flexible with our extended schedule to add another final event and letting us come back on Monday to clear up the space.
The core crew of the NWPC team did amazing this year, top kudos to Eden Stamm which is the pillar of having the event and special kudos to Ashley, Lonnie and Dave helping Ray, Cayle and I with TDing.

And also our sponsors, which make this event possible in the first place by supporting our event and pinball at large. Our local sponsors, 8-bit Arcade as our special sponsor this year again with supporting trophy and plaques and The Ice Box arcade also a special sponsor this year showing awesome support. Amazing support from our Premium sponsors as well, including first time sponsor location like Waterland Arcade and Admiral Pub, as well returning partners, Jupiter Bar, Shorty’s, Olaf’s and Another Castle Arcade. Special thanks to our Event sponsor, Flip n Out Pinball, Cointaker, Comet Pinball and American Pinball. We also receive support from Stern Pinball, Spooky Pinball, Jersey Jack Pinball, Pinball Life.

The banner is coming back in storage, we will see you next year!
