Game list for IFPA Pin-Masters and 2014-15 US National Pinball Championship

I thought there were more people in the last mock bracket… unless I’m doing something wrong, did we drop to 31 players?

I don’t know my potential first-round matchup (Phil Birnbaum) but he looks like a bit of a Classics specialist which doesn’t bode well for me. Then assuming nothing changes and I manage to win, I get Zach Sharpe!

I think there were originally 37 states / provinces eligible. Currently there are 30 being represented. Similar ratio to last year if I recall correctly.

Don’t know if this has been publicized much yet but we will be running a live broadcast of the Nationals (and Pin-Masters too) @ www.twitch.tv/iepinball

@jdelz I’m going to be using Challonge during the broadcast. Any chance you can relinquish that URL to make it easier for me to share  I hadn’t gotten around to setting it up yet, although I could use /2015ifpanationals…

Speaking of the bracket, a bit of research indicates that Eckard Wackerbarth needs “(SK)” (the 2-letter abbreviation for Saskatchewan) next to his name.

EDIT: Jason Mawson also needs “(ON)”.

Thanks for putting it together. Looking forward to the event.

ALSO AN EDIT: It occurs to me that I’m representing all of New England at this tournament. Won’t stop me from wearing a Vermont hockey jersey, though. And please say hi when/if you see me there.

Also just FYI, I’m helping Karl a bit on the broadcast stuff and I’d like to be able to take a quick shot of folks to be used in the broadcast to go with your name. I will set something up at the PHOF where it’ll literally take like 10-20 seconds so if you can let me snap a quick portrait of you we can use that for the broadcast as well. I’ll be around during reg/practice for this…

FYI the bracket posted has a couple of incorrect seedings (http://challonge.com/ifpanationals)

Seedings are based on 1/1/15 rankings at the time we closed them for the year for SCS/IFPA WC purposes. Since then there have been adjustements to 2014 results that have moved people around, but those changes are counted with respect to seedings for Nationals.

Based on the most up to date roster I have, here are the initial seedings:

1 Zach Sharpe 3
2 Robert Gagno 7
3 Andrei Massenkoff 10
4 Dave Stewart 26
5 Chris Basler 32
6 Adam Lefkoff 39
7 Bob Matthews 40
8 Noah Davis 65
9 Mahesh Murthy 67
10 Derek Fugate 93
11 John Delzoppo 131
12 Paul Madison 141
13 Phil Cridlebaugh 144
14 Kevin Stone 177
15 Dave Hubbard 182
16 Will McKinney 183
17 Phil Birnbaum 247
18 Ken Rossi 256
19 Tom Graf 275
20 Mike Pantino 277
21 Brian Dominy 280
22 Drew Cedolia 358
23 Steve Daniels 381
24 Brian Dye 412
25 Jason Mawson 516
26 Brad Smith 517
27 Bryan Broyles 558
28 Shawn Lee 721
29 Scott Hannan 1200
30 Eckard Wackerbarth 2404

Thanks for the accurate rankings. Seedings have been corrected.

Update to the roster:

Preston Moncla will be there representing Texas. 1/1/15 WPPR rank of 482, making him the 25th seed.

Does anyone know when the broadcast is starting? Not sure of the schedule for the event. Thanks!

Supposed to start at 2PM Eastern time. 11 Pacific.

Does anyone know if this bracket (http://challonge.com/ifpanationals) will be the one used? I heard that Adam Peacock from Michigan is missing from the bracket.

We just fixed the bracket, broadcast starting soon!

Very cool guys!
Any chance you’ll run down the standings in the current matches?

Awesome coverage yesterday. Love the telestrator!! Are there plans to broadcast any of the other Vegas events this week?

Such a great time yesterday.

Highlights:

  • Playing against Derek in round 1.

  • Beating Derek, in part because of his great sportsmanship.

  • “Mawson around” with Jason in round 2, and pulling out the victory. I felt bad for all the bad breaks he got in our match; we’ve all been there.

  • Playing against Robert in round 3.

  • Being down >3 billion going into ball 3 on AFM, in a 3-0 elimination game, and coming all the way back. With the whole game streamed live. With Greg and Karl not really believing it was gonna happen, then kind of coming around to the possibility that it could, then correctly pointing out my live catches need work, then finally everyone coming to terms with the fact that it happened. Including me and Robert.

I think there may be some coverage of pingolf but it will depend on how much time people have. It’s pretty likely someone will be doing the finals on Sunday though.

Will the qualifying standings be available to see on the internet?

thanks!
