Though the connection to pinball is pretty loose, I felt itâs worth mentioning that EVO, the biggest video game competition, is now officially canceled, after moving to virtual-only. The person in charge of EVO has been discovered to have a history of sexual harassment and assault. Capcom, Namco-Bandai, Warner Bros. Interactive, and Mane6 had all pulled out from the event prior.
Thereâs been huge ripples in some key competitive video game circles too, as the Weinstein Effect has taken place and numerous top video game players were discovered to have been engaging in sexual harassment and assault as well, and also spousal abuse. (Lab Zero wouldâve been the only company to not pull out from EVOâŚand it was discovered that Mike Z, who supervises key parts of their games, is one of those people discovered to engage in inappropriate behavior).
Pulled from other social media, Dory Hill is cancelled.
"Hello everyone,
After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to cancel Dory Hill for 2020. Unfortunately, there are just too many uncertainties about the course of the pandemic. Hang in there, pinball fans, Dory Hill will be back in 2021!

For virtual California Extreme on August 1, livestreamed on Twitch https://m.twitch.tv/caextreme/profile I and some other Bay Area pinball experts will be discussing pinball game rules, strategies, and exploits for pinball players of all levels.
If you (or some players you know who are not on Tilt Forums) have any questions about any specific pinball games and rules that youâd like answered (simple and complex ones are all welcome), please post your questions to the CAEX forum http://caextreme.org/forum/index.php?topic=795.0 or to the Facebook pages for âCalifornia Extreme Updatesâ or âCalifornia Extreme Fans,â and weâll do our best to answer them on the stream. We regret to inform our Seattle and extended pinball communities that the 2020 Northwest Pinball Championships (NWPC) have been cancelled due to Covid-19.
The organizational team held out as long as possible knowing the event was only scheduled for September, with the hope that phased reopenings would coincide with continued decrease of virus transmission, so that the tournament can be held safely.
Unfortunately, with the now delayed reopenings in the state and virus transmissions that havenât sufficiently decreased, there is no good plan for holding the event without significant risk, and thus the cancellation.
Look for a return of NWPC in 2021, in late summer or early fall. In the meantime, please stay safe and take all precautions necessary to protect your family, friends, and the pinball community.
The NWPC organizing team.

Unfortunately the 2020 Pinball at the Zooâ show is officially cancelled. We are incredibly sad to announce this and we are sure all of you are just as upset!
In more positive news, we have dates for 2021! Mark your calendars for April 15-17, 2021.
If you pre purchased tickets, we ask for you to hold onto those tickets for the 2021 show. This would help the show out a ton as we move forward to 2021. As you could have guessed, the show has experienced some financial strain with not having a show this year. Your ticket will automatically turn into a 2021 ticket if you do not contact me. Keeping your ticket also locks in the current prices (which will go up for 2021). We understand everyoneâs situation is different, so if you need a refund please contact me (Alex) at harmon1728@gmail.com. Please be patient while we process refunds.
Thanks for your patience as we navigated this extremely hard time. We miss all of you, but most of all stay safe.
See you in 2021!
