Twitch/livestream setups.

I can’t find any definitive information about the Yolo if it has a web interface or an API.

Magewell is working on an upgraded line that will do NDI HX2 and HX3 with 4Kp60. My best guess at this point (talking to their US distributor) is that the Pro Convert line will be upgraded first and then the Ultra Encode line. The Director series will get the same treatment much later. They’re taking their time because it is Magewell. It will have an intuitive web UI, it will have an API, it will be well tested and provide stellar performance. All their current products hasn’t fallen out of the spec sheet a single time from my own personal experience. I’m waiting patiently.

Atomos have a few monitor accessories that can transmit wireless. They’ve now officially entered the SDI/HDMI wireless transmission market.

A $599 is a bit steep for 1080p60 (well, 4Kp30 but who cares) and no info on the “stunning” bitrate.

I use Canon M6 Mark II

I also have a set of Sony ZV-E10s

Both are great, Sony has built in USB-C power so no faffing about with coupler.

But the Canon’s definitely win visually by some margin. Unfortunately Canon have killed the M range so I’m about to test R50 R100 and RP. I suspect I will like the RP given its full frame.

I use Rodecaster and the AT-BPHS1 - Buy this bag Gator GL-RODECASTER2 Lightweight Case for Rodecaster & Two Mics at Gear4music

I binned the foam and use bubblewrap around the rode caster - With this bag I can fit in 5 sets of the AT-BPHS1 (in their boxes) and the rode caster and all the cables to connect to the PC and a 4 socket power bar.

Neil.

I haven’t checked but if there isn’t an option to turn this down I’m going to turn it off and ask spooky to put one in. Their shaker motor is insane.

Want to make improvements on the audio for our stream. We do 2 types of setup- tournament with folks in the booth with broadcaster headsets. This works great. When we have our “Just Chatting” style streams we get echoing. Is it because we are using a USB mic? If we plug one through our Rhodecaster Duo will that solve this issue? Do you have a recommendation for a mic that can capture a group hanging in the booth and works well with the Duo Mixer? Can we set up a sound speaker monitor som we can hear what’s going out?

My second question is we have a Viewing room set up for the stream. Were having issues piping the audio to the direct OBS feed to the tv. Any good solutions? Again were running the audio through the Rhodecaster but then folks hear everything we say even when were turned off.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

oh and while I’m here…What is the setup for direct capture of Spike 2 DMDs these days. I watched some YouTube vids but they are 5+ years old So maybe there’s new tech and I dont have to put my first Ali-express order in. lol

These are way better and appear to be more reliable than the older ali-express version: LVDS to DVI-D Converter – HOV PINBALL

I have one and the install was incredibly easy. A little more expensive, but in my opinion, well worth it. Could actually switch from game to game very easily depending upon your need.

I have a hard time following what the “just chatting” stream is comprised of and where are the audio sources? Still in the “booth” and at the game?

BMD decklinks can output the program or preview from OBS. The program is what your Twitch viewers will see AND hear. BMD has a lot different products in this family but the absolute simplest, which I use, is this one: Amazon.com: Blackmagic Design Capture UltraStudio Monitor 3G BDLKULSDMBREC3G : Electronics if you don’t have a spare TB3 port there’s also a PCIe version of it: https://www.amazon.com/Blackmagic-Design-DeckLink-Mini-Monitor/dp/B0B68P6NNH/ (these are for 1080p60)

In my monster setup I have the BMD decklink plugged into a 4-way HDMI splitter and can show the program locally on four displays with embedded audio.

You activate the decklink in OBS via “Tools → Decklink output”, select your device and pick program.

Next weekend it is time for LPA Open again and i am setting up the stream.
I´m having a little issue with the ZV-1. I can´t get the display to work when i have connected the mini-hdmi. Is there a setting to get that to work? It is connected to the splitter (mini-hdmi) - (Hdmi).

I think that when i turn off the splitter, the image pops up in the display.

Also, the settings posted earlier does not really work on my camera. The settings meny looks a bit different on my camera.

I think it’s this item, toggle it off

Has anyone here used the Pinstadium X-Streams lights? We’ve been streaming for a while and loving it, and are looking to incrementally improve our setup. We’ve been using cheap stand lights on the sides of the machine, but I despise how tricky they are to set up to avoid glare, and how hard they are to fit between machines.

I see a lot of positive feedback on the XStreams from a few years back, when they first came out. Are they still a good option? What do you use?

Cheap lights in the rig. Mount them either low and close or high and far out. No glare to be found. Ideas here: dri374.live/gear (main rig has high far out, pocket rig has low and close).

Hello, my name is Juan. I’d like to get into this wonderful world of pinball streaming. I’ve tried a couple of mic stands, but I don’t like it; I find it too unstable.

I love the 8020.net rig, the 1515, but I have a couple of questions.

First, I read that a colleague used the 1530 profile for stability. Is the 1515 really unstable?

Second, I live in Spain and don’t want to shop so far away. Shipping and customs will kill me. Would all the accessories you use be compatible with your 1515 ? maybe METRIC 4040? or more stable… 4080?

Thank you all so much. I’m learning a lot from reading and watching your videos!

I have a ton of gear on my 1515 frame at home. I have angle brackets to support all corners and I don’t find it unstable. For lighter use, like my tournament rig, I don’t use angle brackets and there’s no stability issues. 1530 would make the rig a tank, not a bad thing but it will weigh twice as much.

T-slot profiles are not exclusive to the US in any shape or form. Many expo builders in the EU uses a similar system to build booths and what not. I would check in those markets but also see if you can find any car sim builder community in Spain as they build their rigs with t-slots too.

Perfect, thank you so much for the answer!

I don’t think I’ll take it outside; it’s only for home use. Although I think I’ll stick with the 1515 for lightness, I’ll buy it from local suppliers in metric sizes. The difference, to put it in inches, is 0.075 inches. I don’t think I’ll notice the difference.

Thanks for your input; your website and videos are teaching me a lot!

Has anyone tried some kind of hinge on their streaming rig to fit through doorways?

I can’t fit my rig through a door at my house but I’m thinking if I hinge the top I can lose enough height to make it through. I just need to find the right hinges!

I’ve dealt with this. I had to cut two inches off each post. Sometimes it’s enough to get lower profile casters with a 5/16" slide-in t-nut instead of a full stand-off block depending on your situation. That will get you to wheels + wheel bars + post + top bar, 4" + 1.5" + 72" + 1.5" = 82" which will slide under 84" door frames which are common if you have tall ceilings (80" is pretty common otherwise).

In general, for portable rigs, each post segment should be 17-1/2" (using rollerskate swivel wheels) amounting to 70" total.

Hi again!

Regarding sound, I bought an Audio-Technica 2040 + UMC22 by BEHRINGER, but I don’t like the Behringer at all, i want to change it. On the other hand, I bought some Hollywood Lark M2 wireless headphones, and they run via USB.

I’m supposed to combine these two into a single audio source to avoid sound issues. Is there a mixer where I can plug in a pair of XLR microphones and these USB headphones?

Also, how tall are your RIGS? I think a total height of two meters will save me a lot of trouble moving them around the rooms in my house, but I don’t know if it’s too small.

Thanks again!
