Twitch/livestream setups.

I did an unboxing stream with the CineMaster 4K last week. I manually stepped through 2 minutes worth of frames and it was nothing but perfect. This was all 1080p60 though. Worth mentioning here is that I had three CineView HE’s on full blast during this event so we can assume these are safe to mix and match in the same space.

I used a BMD UltraStudio Recorder 3G (the best 1080p60 capture solution on the market IMHO) to capture the receiver.

Here’s the YouTube link and you can download the file with cobalt.tools if you want to step yourself.

Here’s a problem I’ve never seen before. The subwoofer vibrating so hard it creates micro stutters of the playfield camera. :face_holding_back_tears:

Thank you!! I’ll review the footage this evening!

Hi folks!

First time here. Just trying to get my rig up and running and I am having a Mac OBS problem.

I managed to get Logitech and EMeet camera settings to open up by using Logi Tune, but I can’t get my Sony CX405 plus Cam Link to give me a 60 FPS setting. I hoped that Elgato Camera Hub was going to solve the problem but it didn’t.

I am on a M3 Macbook Pro running Sonoma. Here are the only settings OBS gives me. This is with the Input Format YUY2 - 422YpCbCr8_yuvs, Color Space CS 601, and Video Range limited (also the only settings OBS allows me to choose).

Thanks in advance!

Also have a Mac and ran into this issue.

Don’t use video capture device. Scroll to the bottom under deprecated, then select “Video Capture Device legacy”. That will give you the normal fps options. Not sure what’s different about it, but that’s what worked for me.

OBS has been weird with this lately for the generic capture cards but “Use Preset” and “High” yields 1080p60 in OBS with a CamLink 4K using a 1080p60 source. I just verified on my MacBook Pro M3.

Thanks for the info guys.

I tried the “Video Capture Device legacy” and it didn’t provide more frame rate options.

But if what dri says is true, I can just set my camera frame rate to 60p and select “Use Preset” and “High”. Hopefully that will give smooth gameplay filming!

Wish me luck at my test filming session!

I’m interested in adding an umbrella to the rig for environments with poor overhead lighting causing glare. Anyone have product links for what you’re using in terms of the actual shade and the clamp setup for it?

I use something like this: Amazon.com : Prospo Adjustable Beach Umbrella with Universal Clamp, Portable UPF 50+ UV Protection Umbrella for Chair, Wheelchair, Golf Cart, Stroller, Bleacher, Patio : Patio, Lawn & Garden

But to be honest, it hasn’t been very helpful. Usually the glare is not directly above, but more of a weird angle. So you need to constantly work with different positions and angles to get any benefit. But give it a shot.

I saw someone (can’t remember who) had theirs attached to a flex-arm like this. We (Ypsipinball) haven’t tried this yet.
We have played with other glare-block solutions. The problem that we’ve had is the the solutions that successfully block glare also block some of the light for the player and we try never to impact the players. So, for now, we’re just dealing with the occasional glare.

Thank you both, I figured it’s probably a difficult situation but I’ll see what we can do. Thankfully at our home base we don’t have a lot of issues so it would just be for a few remote streams with unsure overhead lighting. Appreciate the links!

I just use a regular umbrella using a magic arm with a crab clamp on each end of the magic arm.

I finally have my stream looking pretty good & we’ve been streaming regularly. Now it’s time to get the audio squared away. What’s everyone using for commentary audio? USB interface? USB mixer? What type of headsets? I’m currently using two crappy headsets plugged directly into the laptop. It works, but it could be so much better.

I use a behringer usb mixer and audio technica headsets.

Which model of mixer do you use? I’ve had this Behringer mixer linked below on my shortlist. I can only see one jack for headphones though. I know broadcasting headsets have xlr for the mics & use a separate jack for the phones. Not quite sure how to make 2 headsets work. I’m very technologically challenged. I’m lucky I’ve made it this far!

I have the 4-5 channel one. I’ve used the one you’ve linked above. A little too basic imo.

Focusrite Vocaster Two audio interface with Koss Porta Pro headsets. You need phantom to plug-in power adapters for the mics.

I had the whole AT-BPHS1 and Rodecaster setup and was just too cumbersome to lug around for what I need.

So the Yolobox Extreme was just announced and looks mighty interesting. 8 HDMI inputs, 2 HDMI outputs, 4k streaming, lots of good stuff there. YoloBox Extreme: A True Powerhouse

Yolobox ULTRA technically has all the inputs you could ask for. I wish I had the cycles to test it. Perfect on paper but I’m skeptical it will perform well and by well I mean low glass to glass latency and decent NDI bitrate over WiFi. If the Yolo could do my bidding, I’d replace four individual devices on my tournament rig AND bring a bunch of other conveniences with it, like line-in, its own battery (it will work like an UPS when the external battery dies), big screen to see framing better.

Magewell recently updated their AIO solution too with Director One recently. A mild upgrade not half as interesting as the premium Yoloboxes.

Yeah last time I played with Yolobox hardware it was a Pro and couldn’t even do custom layouts which is why I ended up going with the Director Mini. The Ultra does look nice, though I love being able to manage the Director Mini with WebUI from commentator booth if I need to adjust audio or make other changes (can’t currently play with layouts through the web but most other things you can).
