Max MP uses different arena assignment code than regular match play tournaments so I have to implement the “preferred arena” feature separately for Max MP tournaments… and I just haven’t done that.
I’ll look at the big screen view. Something probably changed when I switch to instant updates
I spoke too soon, by chance I looked at the account settings and there’s an option for “compact matches”. I turned that off and it seems I have the big screen finals back! Great feature
@haugstrup I’d like to use matchplay for registration for an upcoming tournament, love the functionality in the system for it. There’s a warning at the bottom about not using if you expect a rush. How many concurrent players would constitute a rush? I’ll have max 100 players and for this event, usually about 20-30 people are right on time and then it slowly fills up after that over multiple days - would that be reasonable to use matchplay for the registrations? It’d be soooo much easier than eventbrite for free registration. Thanks!
Yep, Eventbrite is free for free registration too, but I really like the idea of the registration being in matchplay and since it can handle open date/time, wait list, logging payment, and checking people in as they arrive, it seems like matchplay will save me time and steps over the other tools
This was a good reminder to do a little polish on the registration list. I added a filter button, click it and you can filter the list of registrations by name (type part of a name), the checked in status and the paid status.
So, QOL request: show the number of the current round on the big screen view. I get 40 questions every tournament of what round it is despite having the big screen view up. Would be a great help
Hi. I’m curious whether data on all tournaments in Match Play can be pulled via API. I’d be looking for a list of games used in all tournaments, or if too many results, maybe applying some filter to reduce the number of tournaments in the results. I’m not too familiar with using APIs, but I did look at the API instruction page and it seemed you could query arenas that you created, or perhaps even put a list of IDs in, but not sure if doing all or a subset of all is possible. Thanks!
All tournament data is available via the API, but there are over 100,000 of them and pulling all that data down is… not recommended (that’s a nice way of saying: don’t do it). There are several filters available so you can target the subset of tournaments that are relevant to you.
I don’t quite understand what it is you’re wanting to do though.
I’d just like to pull some data on games used in tournaments to get an idea which games are used how often. I’ll play around with the API using various filters to make sure I don’t try to pull too large a data set. Thanks
edit: I was able to pull my own arena data - is there a way to pull arena data not owned?
Got a bug where the big screen view stops working after a while with a message saying something about the user not having a premium subscription. Happend to other people as well this week
Matchplay, 3 games per round.
We start with 12 players so if we played 3 groups of 4 we would have 6 players after round 1.
Trying to get down to 2 groups of 8 for round 2.
