Updated the Rulesheet once more. I kept the links included because I figured those would be helpful, along with the brief overview at the beginning, but reinstated specifics about how all the Gems work and the Trophy requirements. I’m sorry I had even considered simplifying this Rulesheet when it really is a community driven effort, and not including some of these details could make strategy even more difficult.
No need to apologize. You’re just trying to make this rulesheet work better for those trying to learn from it. Your hardwork on this (and other rulesheets) is greatly appreciated.
Best Thanos Attacks scores, anyone? I just put up 226 mil on mine. Gem was placed on Black Panther at level 2 which I cashed out first, no other Avengers were at level 2, and I had four gems going into the mode so I’m sure people can do better than this.
I got 340M on Thanos Attacks this week, with 5 gems. I’m not sure which avengers were at level 2. Reality Gem was in there somewhere too.
Anyway, I came here to post some details on Space Gem quest scoring. This one can go really big. The base values go like this:
First parry 500k / First attack 1M
Second parry 750k / Second attack 2M
Third parry 1M / Third attack 3M
Shooting Panther makes the parry and attack shots worth the normal 1x each. Shooting either Hawkeye or a Widow-Panther combo makes it 2x for both the parry and attack shot. Shooting a combo of Widow-Gauntlet-Hawkeye makes it 4x for both shots. The portal lock multiplier also applies to all of this.
The huge values come if you put Reality Gem on a level-2 Hulk left orbit shot. The third attack can be as much as 3M x 3 for portal locks x 4 for the combo x 4 for Reality Gem = 144 million!
Then the final blow works like this: Add up all the gem quest scoring so far (including the 500k you get for starting it.) Widow is worth 40% of this value and Panther is worth 60%. These can be multiplied by level-2 status and/or the Reality Gem (but not by portal locks.)
Here’s the galaxy-brain move: do the three attacks with Reality Gem on Hulk, then drain down to one ball, with Change Gems available and hit it, to put the Reality Gem on Panther while still in the middle of the quest. Level-2 Panther with Reality Gem will score 240% of the quest total! (And then you can get a Soul Gem Jackpot for 250% of that on a multiplied Capt Marvel ramp.)
By my count, the maximum possible (without moving Reality Gem more than once, and ignoring the small amounts for the Widow ramp and pop bumpers) goes 6M + 48M + 9M + 96M + 12M + 144M = 315M, then the Panther final blow can score 756M, for a total of 1071M, and then a Soul Gem Jackpot on 5x Capt Marvel would be 2677.5M.
I also tested how the Mind Gem fits into that.
When the Parry part is lit, a level-1 Mind Gem hit will count as hitting the Hawkeye loop. This works to enable the 4x attack if you hit the button immediately after shooting the Widow-Gauntlet combo.
When the Attack part is lit, a level-1 Mind Gem will collect it of course.
When the Parry part is lit, a level-2 Mind Gem will count as completing Widow-Gauntlet-Hawkeye and enable the 4x attack.
When the Attack part is lit, a level-2 Mind Gem will collect it - and also the next Widow-Gauntlet-Hawkeye parry combo for 4x, since those become enabled in order as the mind gem scans left to right.
However, note that the Mind Gem never scores any multipliers from Reality Gem or level-2 status on that shot – so you’re losing out on some attack points if you use a L2 mind gem for that. But it may be worth it to guarantee the 4x for the next attack shot.
Can confirm that the second Soul Gem Quest in a game doesn’t award the Soul Gem to you if you already have it lit, which shouldn’t be that much of a surprise. And the values for assembling the Avengers continue to increase into the second Black Order MB.
I just had a weird bug where I tilted out of Black Order MB and when I plunged the next ball I had all of the Avengers collected already and Battle Royale was ready to go.
I dont know if Ive ever tilted out of BOMB before so maybe that bug always happens. But I WAS signed into Stern IC so maybe it had something to do with that as well.

i’m unsure if what happened to me was a bug, but i found it odd enough to place on the backburner of my memory for a few weeks until i found the time/place to share. While playing an AIQ Pro and about to play my 2nd extra ball on ball 3, i went to adjust the table, because i had moved it over quite a few inches during my first extra ball. When doing so, my left hip/thigh area hit the Start button.
What i expected to happen was a second player gaining a credit and starting their first ball after my last ball ended.
What actually happened was my game abruptly ended and Player One was all set for a new game, ball one, score 0,000,000
i wasn’t connected to IC at the time, unsure if it has any influence on what happened.
Was that normal?
Yeah, thats normal. You can only add a player if you’re currently on ball 1. Otherwise tapping the start button will do nothing but holding the start button will restart the game.
I believe JJP does allow the behaviour you’re describing though. But Im pretty unfamiliar with JJP games.
Thank you Shaub, i’ve been curious about this for weeks now.
I don’t think Gem Mania / Elemental Excitement / Ornament Obsession / what have you is working as it should at the moment - specifically off of the new drop target method that was introduced in the latest update. I was in the middle of Iron Man MB with no other modes going on (yeah, bad idea, I know) and I completed the drop targets to activate Gem Mania during the mode. What happened from there was odd - while Iron Man MB displays / music were prioritized on the display, I could continue to increase the Iron Man MB jackpot value with disc hits but the jackpots weren’t lit, and Gem Mania otherwise took priority. I believe something similar occurs if you start it during Thor MB. If you drain to a single ball while Gem Mania is still running, the multiball total screen is displayed and the “final jackpot timer” for Gem Mania starts.
I think a good way to circumvent this would be having the “Gem Mania” grid square only qualify the mode if other features are currently active - it seems to take priority over everything else when started so you might as well prevent getting potentially screwed out of a multiball or a mode.
And one minor complaint - not a big fan of the final jackpot shot also immediately starting the next gem quest or wizard mode if you shoot it. Can screw you out of change gems.
Here’s the details of Soul Gem quest scoring:
- 250k for starting the quest
- 250k x N for each of the first 7 shots, where N is the shot number
- 3M for the final shot (included in the display for flips remaining)
- 500k per flip remaining
The shots to Panther, Widow, Hulk, and Captain Marvel can be multiplied by avenger level-2 status, the Reality Gem, and the Captain Marvel ramp multiplier on the premium. I’m fairly sure that level-2 Thor and Iron Man don’t multiply their shots. Any shot spotted via Flank Attack, the Mind Gem, or Mystery doesn’t use any of these multipliers.
Where the scoring matters is in trying to get enough for the trophy at Gold status, which requires 30 million. Finishing with 40 flips remaining will guarantee this. It can be done with fewer if some shots had multiplied values; in particular I most often have the Captain Marvel multiplier at 3x, which is an extra 3.5m such that 33 flips will be enough.
I use this information strategically like this: if I complete the first seven shots with lots of extra flips remaining (close to 50), I’ll work on the Captain Marvel ramp count for a little while before making the final shot to win the mode. I can often get an extra 2-4 CM ramp hits this way.
Hard mode multiplies all values x10, of course. The shot to Captain Marvel in particular can get very big this way. It can be 1750k base, x10 for hard mode, x5 for the Binary multiplier, x2 for the Reality Gem, for a total of 175 million. I go for this if I reach the Soul Gem quest a second time (this happens if you assemble all the avengers a fourth time, after the third qualified Battle Royale.)
There’s a 5x Binary multiplier on Captain Marvel ramp? I haven’t had enough time on a working Prem/LE Marvel ramp to know what that’s like. So the Binary +1x on Marvel ramp applies to all future ramp values for the remainder of the game?
Does that include +1x on future Soul Gem collects (not Soul Quest, but Soul Gem perk collects after other Quests) when you place Soul on the Marvel ramp??
Yes. Every time you complete the Binary two-shot hurryup, you increase a multiplier for all scoring on the Captain Marvel ramp, permanently for the rest of the game, to a maximum of 5x. This is covered in the rulesheet. Yes, it applies to Soul Gem Jackpots if you put the SG on this ramp.
That’s really cool! Like I mentioned, I didn’t realize it because the AIQ LE on location near me has a Marvel ramp that rejects 95% of the time, to the point where I ignored shooting it, and could rarely finish Soul Quest unless I had Mind Gem booms, because Marvel was unHittable. RIP
Black Order Multiball:
All six main Avengers are lit. After certain thresholds of shots are made to them (listed below)
I don’t see the thresholds to light jackpot listed below. Can someone confirm, or tell me I can’t read and point me to where it’s listed?
My guess is that somewhere along the way, those thresholds were removed in a edit, probably to allow space for other things. This rulesheet is so long that it runs up against the max character limit of a single post.
I just went back through the revisions and it looks like between revision 88 and 89 the thresholds were removed:
The thresholds required for each Avenger are:
- Hulk: 50 spinner hits
- Iron Man: Complete inlanes once
- Captain America: 20 bumper hits
- Black Widow: 3 left ramps
- Thor: 4 captive balls
- Black Panther: 3 right orbits
Sounds like a job for @gdd to me. It’s just a setting, and if wiki rulesheets are actually running up against that limit, there’s no good reason not to, say, double it.
I was kind of wondering if maybe the first two posts could be set aside as wikis but if the limit can just be increased, that would be nice as well.
