Avengers: Infinity Quest Rulesheet

I got to the point of 1,500 Marvel spins on a Pro the other day, and didn’t get/light an extra ball. Then I pulled the glass and manually spun the spinner 1,500 times on a fresh game. Still nothing.

@raydaypinball has this EB been eliminated, or has the value changed? If so I’ll amend the wiki accordingly.

It probably bit the dust at some point

Thanks. Edit has been made. I assume the EB for 50 Marvel ramps has been nerfed, too, so I removed it, as well.

Turns out the pro doesn’t have any extra balls available at marvel where as the premium has one at 12 and 50

Is Gem Mania available as a grid award only for players that are logged in? And is Gem Mania available this way even without a topper? I don’t think I’ve ever seen Gem Mania when I’ve played Avengers IQ in the last year, so maybe I’m not reading the rulesheet correctly.

Yes and yes.

OK, does competition mode (not Competition Install) take Gem Mania away? I’m just wondering if in a tournament will IC logged in players have an advantage over non-logged in players?

Yes.

I wouldn’t consider Gem Mania much of an “advantage” even if it does end up available in competition. It’s a fairly worthless mode by the time you’re deep enough in the game to achieve it.

Gem Mania the mode itself doesn’t score much, but it is another big lengthy multiball that’s stackable to help any other stuff going on. Also it doesn’t have to come late in the game, it could be after just your first gem if you pre-set-up the account with five already completed.

Nope.

If there is no topper present, the computer grid gem mania availability is purely based on the adjustment “IC GEM MANIA CPU GRID AWARD”. This adjustment gets turned off when performing a competition install.

However, if a topper is present, then there is no gem mania possible from computer, and additionally, the topper will only start gem mania if it is both 1) not in competition mode and 2) adjustment “TOPPER GEMS START GEM MANIA” is enabled. This adjustment also gets turned off when performing a competition install.

So yes technically if tournament director did not perform a competition install or did not change the IC GEM MANIA CPU GRID AWARD setting, and there’s no topper on the game, someone who’s logged in can play gem mania vs someone who isn’t, even if competition mode is set.

Realistically though it really doesn’t matter at all, because it’s buried so far in the grid awards…

This makes more sense, thanks for the heads up.
