You make the ruling - loose tilts, skidding legs

The “coin door disables tilt” is a separate setting from “coin door ball save”. There was a period of time where a few games didn’t have a coin door switch either, so if the setting was available it didn’t do anything. Anyway, once the coin door is open you can put the game into the service menu and that will disable the tilt bob while you move the game, then the game state will resume once you exit the service menu.

That language could probably use some clarification, since the big “Disqualifications” section a page later says that “disqualification” means taking a zero on the game.

I would certainly consider intentional interference, intentionally playing out of turn, etc all to be in the realm of “Cheating” and worthy of immediate ejection from the event. This is the “rule violation” vs “player misconduct” divide we discussed earlier. Player misconduct is (thankfully) rare and can be dealt with subjectively. Rules violations are common and can be dealt with objectively.

100% . . . every question regarding player intent is always “Player Conduct” related. Their actions regardless of intent are “Rules violations” related.

well then intentionally telling an other player something to make them play out of turn should be covered by that.

Also there should be an written rule about when an turn ends or when the player responsibility ends for an turn.
and by responsibility ends that means that if after then some ones ends out of turn then there is no DQ for the fouling player. Also responsibility ending does not mean Cheating. Say someone drains thinks there ball is over and then takes an bathroom brake (but there turn is really not over) that is not cheating. OR they have an surprise ball save / don’t know about it or on an game like fireball pinball that has a odd lock / unlock rules.

Cheating may be that you know but do X in the hope making the next player DQ.
also nice to have an written rule if due to an game fault then there is no DQ.

Your turn is over when the next player is up. Done.

and does that also mean responsibility ends??

and when is the next player is up? when the game say? when an TD says?

Now what if say player one walks away (they are still up but they don’t know that or they are trying to cheat) and then the TD tells the next player you are on the clock to start or get an delay of game and then go up to the game and oops player 1 is still up? That should not be an DQ in any way for player 2.

Your responsibility as a player of knowing whether it’s your turn or not never ends.

The game tells you when you’re up. If you’re confused, ask a TD.

Absolutely what @chuckwurt said.

I have seen way too many occasions where a (not up) player misinforms another (up) player about what’s going on, in a way that ends up burning the (up) player. Players in a tournament need to take care of themselves, and themselves alone. If you get confused about something, consult with a TD, that’s what they’re there for.

This applies to things like:

  • Which player is up right now?
  • How do we handle stuck balls?
  • How do we handle extra balls?
  • Did I in fact clinch the victory when someone says “you got it”?

If in doubt, DO NOT LISTEN to your opponents. They are not TD’s (well, except when they are).

Also, no special rule is needed about when a turn ends. If you are, say, Player 3, it is your turn anytime the display or light indicator says “Player 3 Up”. When it no longer says that, it is not your turn. If there is any confusion about this, perhaps due to a burnt-out player-number indicator bulb, or one of those annoying shooter lane display effects that doesn’t show player number, then consult a TD.

Compensation ball for A, no penalty for B. #$%& happens.

the ‘end of turn’ thing is one where I’ve wanted to see something happen like on twilight zone where if someone hits flippers like to finish the bonus count early of the previous player but it awards points (or they tilt the previous player) then obviously that’s bad and an infraction. but i’ve seen folks drain on a game with longer bonus counts like Deadpool and then the next player hits both flippers to speed up the bonus countdown. Technically they are ‘playing’ while the previous players turn is up (since they could have tilted their bonus and/or given them an inadvertent bonus like on TZ or other games that might have something similar) but that’s almost never given even a warning. that might be one of those grayer areas where when does a turn end is violated but not given a penalty (or what if they danger the person during their bonus countdown but it wasn’t a tilt)…

lot’s of players do that and it’s like never called out, never questioned, ect.

Now can an player be foreced to speed up there bonus count?
