fish tales in video replaces EB with BS.
Yeah, to me, that’s different. Because it’s only the “BS” (Big Score) in video mode, and it’s not even representing itself as an Extra Ball anymore.
And IIRC, a standard EB from Fish Tales in Comp mode gives nothing – or perhaps the standup never gets lit at all?
The fish finder mystery award will avoid it, but it’ll still light from the captive ball (and do nothing if you hit it).
also in MM 1st Royal Madness will give points when EB is off.
In Fish Tales, with extra balls on, the 4th captive ball award is 3M + Light EB (display shows 5M and Extra Ball Lit).
With extra balls off, the award is 23M (display shows 5M).
So if you fancy nitpicking, it is the Light EB and not the EB itself that turns into 20M.

Fascinating! I didn’t know that. Probably because if I’m in a comp game, and I get to that 4th captive ball award, I’m focused on getting the 5th award: Instant MB, and never realized that the Light EB gave those points.

Pretty sure the vast majority of Williams games will give you the “points” award immediately upon doing the “light extra ball” bit. This will happen any time extra balls aren’t available, including if they’re turned off altogether, if you’re at the per-game limit (typically unlimited), the per-BIP limit (typically unlimited), or the stack limit (typically 4).
A lot of times this goes unknown/unnoticed, but you definitely need to figure it into a game like Jackbot. Light Extra on Jackbot is 200M, and special is, I believe, 500M. You’ll get the 200M immediately from the ramp->inlane award if you land on light extra, and from cashing in any EBs in Casino Run. Casino Run cow will just give you 500M immediately since it doesn’t bank, same with MK3 hint gives 200M (normally instant eb).
The Fish Tales Grab Your Gear award is a known bug; it always shows you the NEXT award rather than what you got (hence the 3M out of the 23M).
