Pinball goals for 2020

Mine are:

Crack top 100 (currently at 138 and climbing :frowning: )
Win RI states again
Make it out of the first round of national finals if I do win states
Top four finish in an event at INDISC
Qualify for pinburgh A division finals
Find time to fix my machines in the basement
Publish a version of the IFPA app without any bugs in it

Two achieved goals for 2019:

Qualify for states with a bye. Never thought I’d come close, but I managed!

Fight the Beast on my Iron Maiden. This turned out to be surprisingly elusive, but I managed.

Goals for 2020:

Make a final four in States.
Run to the Hills
Play in three pro circuit tournaments, including Pinburgh.

Was there a Pinball Goals for 2019 thread? I couldn’t find it just now (but found 2018 and 2017). Man, time is moving quickly.

I think my goals for the last several years have been all competitive achievements and those goals have led to some exciting accomplishments so they are great, but this year my primary goal is to identify and build TD skills in those who have interest in running events to expand our TD community with additional organizers and assistant TD’s who run high quality events.

Time to copy/paste 2019, but with more difficulty and fun!

  • Win a circuit event
  • Make the top 10 in the Stern Pro Circuit (consistency!)
  • Make the top 40 in IFPA ranking
  • Help grow the TD/organizing part of the pinball community by being a TD resource
  • Qualify better than Aleksander at a Circuit event
  • Top 4 in Pittsburgh Pinball League
  • Start writing about pinball rules and miscellaneous stuff

My goals for 2020 are to focus less on competition.

  • Have a succession plan for the leagues I run
  • Attend a pinball show and not compete in a competition
  • Continue to focus on improving my streaming skills and setup (not a well written goal as it is not measurable)

Hit most of my 2019 goals.
**Exceeded IFPA rank goal to 513 (Check)
**NIB game DQ’d due to rising prices and lowered initial release quality.
**Helped locals play better (Check)
**Played Pinburgh, IFPA retirement still be debated.
**Failed to lower event count under 40. Will try again for 2020.

Overall a good year.
