NYC Pinball Championships 2022 - August 19th-21st, 2022

NYC PINBALL EXPO + CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS WEEKEND IN BROOKLYN

(New York, NY) - The New York City Pinball Championships returns this weekend after a three-year hiatus, bigger, better, and boomier than ever before. The pinball expo and tournaments, to be held August 19-21 at the Five Two A event space in Industry City, Brooklyn, will welcome hundreds of tournament players and pinball fans from across the globe of all skill levels. The space, which can accommodate up to 500 silverball enthusiasts, features over 10,000 square feet and stunning unobstructed views of the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan, hosted by the historic Industry City campus featuring dozens of local food and shopping options catering to all tastes.

CoinTaker Amusements, a premier northeast pinball machine retail seller and distributor, is supplying a free play bank of over a dozen brand new Stern pinball machines, along with other classic games for the public to play all weekend long. Games will be for sale as well so flipper afficionados can bring home their own brand new Stern pinball machine.

NYCPC tournaments will include International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA)-sanctioned, IFPA-certified Main, Classics, and the Dahlia Rowan Memorial Women’s NYC Championship, as well as a B-Division contest for players ranked outside of the top 500 by the IFPA. Sizeable payouts will be awarded to winners in all divisions. The action will be streamed live all weekend long by Backhand Pinball; visit their channel at twitch.tv.

Tickets are available now at a discount from the onsite door price. Visit the NYCPC web site at www.nycpinballchamps.com for links, registration, and information about the venue, the neighborhood, and nearby lodging options.

“It’s been a long three years, but the wait hasn’t been in vain; we’ve spent the time working to make NYCPC bigger, better, and more accessible to everyone,” said NBP Co-founder Levi Nayman. “The new venue and Industry City campus redefines what a pinball tournament experience should be; as players compete in world-class tournaments, they’ll be immersed in New York City – it’s culture, its taste, its landmarks, and its excitement! We can’t wait to welcome everyone back from the beefiest of hibernations. Like Lady Liberty herself, we lift the torch of competition to the skies, a fiery beacon welcoming the huddled masses yearning to flip free, and declare once and for all: Pinball is back!”

I believe I managed 75 points for my team. None of my players made the final four. I’m sure many teams did better. How did yours do?

Thanks guys I’ll update the fantasy teams when I can. Thanks for posting pics from the event.

Sorry about that Chris! I had some hand issues which prevented optimal play. (Excuses, excuses LOL)

And already hit the cards. Enjoy the WPPR booms!

Nobody picked Bill Mason (I finally looked at the sheet)

now that was an underdog!

Biggest finals upset in a big tournament in recent history?

A bigger finals upset that comes to mind was Zach McCarthy winning The Open this year over Ray, Cayle and Colin Urban.

I beg to differ! I mean at least the final 4.

Besides Keith Elwin, I doubt anybody picked Bill Mason, Nick DeStefano, or Jack Tadman to be NYCPC 2022 finalists!

Regardless of the context of who they shared a final 4 with, I would think Bill winning NYCPC was more of an upset/surprise than Zach winning INDISC. But I’ve been wrong before!

Ah, I misunderstood what you meant by “finals upset” then.
