I just noticed that registration just opened up for that other Stern circuit event at the end of July, Bayburgh. Looks like the broke it into 2 different qualifying groups this year on different days:

We have indeed opened up the Pre-Registration for this year’s Bayburgh, held at California Extreme. THIS event is Special! It is the Most Moderately Sized Group Matchplay Tournament in the World!
We are really excited to host this tournament for the second year in a row. Last year we were given exactly 1 week to put together a Fun event, and I believe we succeeded. Others did too… I think 
This year we have been able to prepare a larger, and hopefully even better, event. We are also on the Stern Pro Circuit! So, if you’re on the West Coast and not attending Pinburgh, we have an event for You! We will have 16 games in the event, with 4 alternates. These will for the most part be coming from the Monterey Flipper Pinball collection, which can be viewed on the Pinball Map - http://mfpinball.org/pinballmap. We will also be teasing the games via the Instagram account we set up specifically for this event, @bayburgh.
