Die Hard Pinball League (DHPL) is pleased to announce YEGPIN: 2024 Pinball and Arcade Expo is officially scheduled for June 20 – 23, 2024 at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada.

DHPL is a non-profit society in Alberta with a mission to:

  1. Grow the hobby of pinball and arcade.

  2. Provide an outlet for competitive pinball.

  3. To donate and support organizations that fight Cancer.

In 2023, over 2,200 pinball and arcade enthusiasts attended YEGPIN. We had 5 world class pinball tournaments including the main event - YEGPIN Match Play Championship, which will be a 2024 Stern Circuit Event once again. The main tournament featured 20 banks of machines (80 machines) and ran over 3 days of competition. We have an excellent track record of delivering a world-class pinball and arcade show; this is due to the unwavering support from our volunteers, machine donors, technicians, competitors and enthusiasts.

YEGPIN 2024 will feature two full arenas, 28,000 square feet of pinball and arcade gaming and will be 4 full days of celebration and competition. There will be three other IFPA sanctioned events and the non-IFPA sanctioned Youth Canadian Pinball Championships. Arena 1 will be fully open to the public on Thursday and Friday, but will have no play access to Arena 2 as that will be dedicated to tournament play. On Saturday and Sunday, both arena’s will open up to the public with a small portion that is dedicated to tournament play for those days. In total YEGPIN has the potential of giving away over $90,000 ($66,000 US) over the course of the weekend.

Re Classics: with 28 to the playoffs, will that be top 4 get a bye, #5-28 play in 6 groups of 4 round 1, top half (12) go through, then have rounds of 16, 8 and 4?

Yes it will be the same seed format as the Match Play except you play a 4,2,1,0 3 game match play format. Could be one of the biggest classics tournaments ever!!

I added Yegpin to the calendar. Which events do you expect to be Certified / Circuit / etc?

Hoping we become the first show to have three certified plus tournaments in one weekend. If the women’s actually sells out I would not be apposed to increase to a top 24 and make it four certified plus tournaments and the first ever women’s certified plus tournament ever. Sky is the limit we have the venue the only question is how many players show up to support it :grinning:.

and hope you don’t over run on time and no you can’t DQ an player who is playing in an other tournament that over laps with an 2th one that it is there trun.

Been running this tournament for 7 years now I think I am going to be okay.

They have 4 full days and little overlap in their concurrent schedule so it is pretty unlikely

well per the NEW ifpa rules you must wait and you can not DQ an player playing in an other tournament when there trun is up in an overlapping tournament

Ok dude did you read through the entire schedule? Did you read through all the rules? Where does it say that we are DQing anybody at all in the rules for playing in another tournament final, if it does I am happy to adjust it? There is zero overlap between tournaments in the playoffs. The only possible overlap is in the Women’s and we state we won’t start the finals if there is a women still participating in the Women’s final, that has always been the case for every YEGPIN even before the new rules came out. I fully understand the rules and appreciate you giving you insight with all of the extensive knowledge of tournaments you have ran but we got it.

IMPORTANT TICKET SALES INFORMATION BELOW!!!

Well we are finally here tournament ticket sales will commence for the 2024 YEGPIN Pinball and Arcade Expo on Thursday, January 25th at noon MST for Hardcore Bundles and Women’s Match Play Championships and on Saturday, January 27th at noon MST for Combo Bundles. Head to our website and click get tickets and those tickets will magically appear!!!

Here is what you need to know:

Hardcore bundles will have a limit of 160 tickets sold, there will be no waitlist for these tickets. Additionally the tickets are only on sale from Thursday, January 25th at noon MST to Saturday, January 27th at 10:00am. Once sales end if there are any tickets left they will convert to Combo tickets and will be sold starting on Saturday, January 27th at noon MST. A total of 240 tickets will be sold to this event. If there is a sellout we will create a waitlist ticket process that we will announce.

The difference between a Hardcore and Combo Pass is simple, do you want to play more pinball on the weekend? If you do then the Hardcore Pass gives you entry into the Best Card Championship. All details on this tournament are on the website. Please note the playoffs are on Sunday Night for all divisions.

When you try to purchase your ticket for any of the tournaments you will only be able to process one ticket per person at a time. You will also have to add any merchandise items at the time of purchase or else you will need to purchase those in event; we will have limited quantities in show so if you want your merchandise better to pre-order (plus it is cheaper to do so 🙂).

Merchandise cannot be purchased separately from a tournament or general admission ticket; it must be done in the same transaction.

So as an example if I want to buy a Combo Pass, a Women’s Match Play Championship ticket, and a shirt, I have to do the tournament tickets in two separate transactions, but add the shirt in one of those transactions. Sorry that is a limitation of the Ticket Tailor system we are using this year.

Speaking of Ticket Tailor you will see a decrease in booking fees for this year, as the new application is a much more affordable ticket option so we are happy to pass some savings back to you.

Lastly you will be asked for some critical information, such as your contact information, IFPA Number and Pinball League Affiliation. Please ensure you have that information ready as those are mandatory fields. If you do not have an IFPA number then put NEW, if you do not have a Pinball League Affiliation or it is not on the list put in N/A, you can send an email to our team if you want to add a new pinball affiliate to the list.

That is about it, get your F5 ready and join in on the craziness of one of the most popular tournaments of the year. We are so pumped to put on all of our pinball tournaments and are going to put on one heck of a show so don’t miss out!!!

Looks like about 100 of the hard cores went right away, we’ll see how long it takes to sell out.

Glad to hear there were no server issues like last year, considering this. Didn’t seem like the website even slowed down for me.

It took 30 seconds or so to go live, but worked fine once it did. 48 remaining now.

Update: just went back UP to 50; 2 people must have dropped out before finishing their purchases.

Yes, two years ago we had our own internal ticket site that crashed and did a lot of manual registration that was painful. Last year we had Eventbrite, which was good but it was very expensive on fees. This year Ticket Tailor held up well and has a lot less fees so everyone wins!!! We were holding our breath but it seems like there were no issues and everyone who wanted their tickets go them.

Still have until January 27 till 10:00am to get Hardcore bundles, once that deadline passes the remaining unsold will convert to Combo Passes which I know many people are still waiting for. Thanks for all the support, the show will be off the chart!!!

@diehardpinball

I didn’t see a place to enter size of t-shirt. Will you be reaching out to get confirmation of sizing before the event?

Yes, we are taking steps to fix that, a new system and missed that component. We didn’t want to do it as ticket sales were happening for fear of messing up the system but we did catch that. We will reach out to each person that did buy merch to get sizes but we do have more than enough of each size normally as we do sell merchandise throughout the event. By pre-purchasing you get a bit of deal and guarantee that you get your stuff. As in event it is a little more expensive and when we sellout we sellout.

Update only 14 Hardcore tickets remain and looks like the Best Card will now be a Certified Plus event as well. Three certified plus tournaments in the same weekend going to be some big time WPPR!

Combo tickets will be on sale starting at noon MST tomorrow for those that are patiently waiting.

Good luck and buy early based on the current sales.

Last chance if you want to go Hardcore at YEGPIN-Pinball & Arcade Expo. The tickets will no longer be for sale once 10:00am MST passes and all ticket(s) will convert to Combo tickets that will be sold starting at noon MST today. We will also add the remaining tickets for the Best Card Championship (if Hardcore ticket does not sellout) in case if people change their mind or want to register for that tournament online or if they still remain in event. The ticket will be the same as in the Hardcore Bundle but will just be a little more expensive at $125 each. Good luck in getting your Combo bundles today and if they all sellout we will communicate on how you can be added to the waitlist. Thanks again for all the support what an event this is going to be can’t wait till June!!!
