Yes, grinding away and still got some work to do on the specific rule sheets the information is old on some of them, it os on my list of things to do. However, the information on the main site should be correct $50 an entry or $125 for three.
Good news is DTM is looking really good and I think you will all like the new interface scoring and standings for the new YEGPiN Match Play format.
It is really slick and no more pen and paper or delays in entry of scores. Competitors will enter all scores electronically when completed and select the order of machines for next games. So awesome to automate this entire process that must have been a major headache for Pinburgh organizers.
I think times have changed more people feel comfortable to use DTM and Match Play. I can tell you entering over 3000 scores and getting players to do it sure does help the organizing team. We still will have a paper option for those that need it and can enter it but want to do what we can to lessen the burden of volunteers, I believe us as players always want to do what we can to help organizers. The premise is that entering it on paper or entering it in a system is the same work for the player why do it twice.
Only one person in the group needs to enter them in. As long as you have a cell phone it is pretty easy. Normally players will want to have this anyway for the self queuing options for the Pro Pinball and Knockout Cancer. Hoping to provide a demo video or explaination as part of the orientation at the event.
In theory I believe they were designated. I will add that into the orientation presentation before the event. It may come down to the person who has a cell phone or who is more comfortable using DTM. If no one in group is able to enter electronically a manual sheet will be available for entry. We have the technology to now self serve to hopefully people will be able to adapt and help out us as organizers with the entry.
Did you guys ever get around to testing Germaine for performance-enhancing drugs? Not that I have a problem with them in theory but the fact that he refused to share really offends me.
It was a pretty busy last 4 days or so but damn did I have fun. Every person that volunteered their time to set up and run the event have my sincere and deep appreciation. I met a lot of new people and got a chance to see many that I havent seen since the last YEGPin. All in all, I have no complaints besides the fact that if it weren’t for 3 to 6 dozen bad bounces, I would have won the whole thing!
Agreed, solid event, running a pinburgh style event is number of times more difficult than most other format out there.
Very impressive first instance, looking forward to this event building into a larger crowd just like Pinburgh did in several years.
The event felt much like Pinburgh 2011 (the first new one, but with top notch streaming added now) and was about the same size. Hopefully it will evolve upward as that did. Thanks to Derek and the crew for a great job!
Should be John Kottmann, Derek Price and me getting the most. John was #2 in Match Play, T-4 in Classics and T-13 in Pro. Derek was #4 in Match Play, #2 in Classics and T-11 in Pro. I was #5 in Match Play, 1st in Classics, #27 in Pro. Keri, you, Luke, Mike Tz and Jack all did well, too. Eric only played in the main event. I’ll check once they’re posted. FYI, John was already the points leader in the Alberta Provincial rankings for the North American series prior to this; he’ll just increase his lead, perhaps to over 100 WPPRs.
