I also got through somehow and got the confirmation email, but I wouldnt be surprised if they gave refunds and tried it again. It’s so frustrating and unfair for everyone
How much of my Saturday do I watch the spinning wheel??
Round and round she goes!
Giving up after getting repeated 504 errors. I’m guessing the matchplay tickets must be sold out by now.

Why do you hate me Oh Canada???
when i just got through to main page and it said there were still 220 tix available to the matchplay
this has to be the worst experience trying to get tickets… ever. Very disappointing as it unfortunately cast a dark shadow on a great event.
I now get the following error when simply accesing www.yegpin.com:

The advise I received is that this was going to work and we determined that using an outside system wasn’t necessary. When a show grows like this one has, and I mean the numbers we are seeing are absolutely ridiculous there are growing pains. I am sorry you feel that way, you have been to this event a few times we have never had any ticketing issues and pretty well use the same software as always so the difference is the amount of people accessing the site at once. Third time lucky is all I can say, we will do a lottery system which won’t cause the issues it will be more fair then who can do F5 better and faster, and it will give us a good idea of how many people really want to attend this show and allow us to manage a waitlist more effectively.
The ticketing issue should not reflect bad on the show itself but this makes for a disappointing experience, especially if people had not yet attended the show in the past.
Official dedicated ticketing services were mentioned multiple times after the first issue and it seems there is a good reason to use, even at the “smaller” scale of a pinball events compare to other larger events. I am frankly surprised a few hundreds pinball player would crash any kind of hosting or purchasing platform, from an IT side of things i would seriously doubt their capabilities. Again, the incidents happened, best the team can do is learn from them for the next time around.
I am sure there is a good reason no events that i am ever of as used lottery system, in my opinion “fair” does not equal “total random”. The F5 refresh has its pros and cons for sure but it is up to the users to control their fate (when things go well from service provider side). I am hoping there will be an allocation for people that are a group for family or couple that are interested (not that applies to me).
I was looking forward to see the new format but being on the losing side of 2 hours of F5 refresh, I will have to be satisfied with watching the stream, that is how it goes someteime-
The lottery system hasn’t been used, I have no idea of the reasoning but probably because it is a lot of work to do right. We are going to make it an event, a spectacle, I wasn’t planning on doing until next year as honestly I didn’t think we would have to go here. I have never liked the F5 experience it sucks losing out in a tournament in 5 minutes and I want to try something different. Maybe it is worse or maybe just maybe it might be better, I guess we will find out one way or the other.
I have always been an advocate of lottery allocation as a more “fair” system. Maybe more equitable is a better way of looking at it. It removes barriers from people with time constraints (like needing to work at the time tickets go on sale, or sleeping), poor internet, accessibility concerns using the website. Pick your favourite equal Vs equitable info graphic.
Hello all and thank you for your patience. We have been working out the details on how to proceed with the registration process for our super popular tournaments at YEGPIN Pinball and Arcade Expo.
As you know, the ticketing system has broken down twice due to the demand of these tickets so we will be using a pre-registration form that will be available until Thursday, March 3rd, 2022 at 10:00PM.
Pre-Registration Form
This will allow the time for competitors to be able to submit their form for entry into the tournaments at the YEGPIN Pinball and Arcade Expo. This form is now live and available on our website at https://www.yegpin.com/registration-2022/ or click pre-registration button.
By doing a pre-registration this will give us the ability to understand the demand and if necessary try to scale up the tournaments to meet the demand as best as we can. It is very important that if you want to attend any of the YEGPIN tournaments that the form is filled out and submitted. Once we hit the cut-off date, we will then award tickets to those that submitted as long as we have capacity to do so. Remember you have a number of days to complete this process so if the system can’t handle the requests then come back and try again no need to F5 in this process.
If demand exceeds capacity then there will be a priority draw to determine whom will be awarded ticket tickets to this event. For more details on pre-registration and the anticipated priority draw please visit our website where all of the details are there on how that will be administered.

YEGPIN Current Tickets Status:
We are in a tough situation with the completed and refunded orders that were processed. Our team has decided that to allow all orders that were refunded in the first purchase process and the orders that have been successfully processed in the second purchase process to stand and they have secured their spots in the event. It will not be popular for some, but if necessary, we are committing to scale up the tournament to make up for the difference in available tickets in the Match Play Championship. This all might be a moot point if we have enough ticket available after pre-registration but we want to assure you we are doing everything we can to get as many people access to this event as possible.
All orders that were successful in processing but were refunded in the first purchase process will be sent an electronic invoice to process their registration we believe we will have these ready by Tuesday, March 1, 2022, so you will not have to fill out a pre-registration form your tickets are secured for the event.
All orders that were successful in the second purchase process have secured their entries for the event and no further action is required. However, we will be auditing all of the current purchases this week and validating the first and last names and if this information was incorrectly filled out or not entered in correctly we will refund those orders and those individuals will have to submit a pre-registration form for their entry if they still want those tickets. Example of these cases may be if an individual did not enter a proper first name or last name that can be tied back to an IFPA or a physical person that can show ID at the event.
We understand the frustration of the registration process to date; our team felt this was the only way to allow everyone to access this event in the fairest way possible. The pre-registration process will give us an opportunity to see how many people actually want access to this event. The priority draw if necessary we believe is the fairest to disperse the rest of the tickets in such a short turnaround.
This process will cause our team a lot of extra administration but it will ensure the rest of the tickets are distributed fairly, and everyone who want one will at least get some sort of chance to get one.
Sorry for the inconvenience and hope to see all of your pre-registration forms so we can start getting people registered for all of the great tournaments at our show and start talking about all cool stuff at the event.
Thanks for your support.
Will these invoices will be sent per ticket or combined for all items selected? Eg, if I don’t get a Pro ticket, then I’d like to play in the Women’s tourney, and vice versa, but I can’t play in both because they are incompatible due to scheduling conflicts. I don’t want to select both and then be out of pocket paying for a ticket I can’t use, but if the invoices are sent for individual tickets and registration is simply the opportunity to confirm a spot, then I can decline the one I don’t want (if fortunate enough to get both), and it would go to next in line. Pls can you confirm?
An announcement will happen on Friday on the results of ticket sales at that time you could send an email cancelling your Pro ticket. If we send you the invoice you can always reject it and then we adjust it as well. So there is no way for you to be out of pocket in the process, it is actually safer then quick buying on the site because you would if you would have bought both and then wanted a refund for Pro Pinball entry you would have lost out on 50 percent of that ticket based on our rules. Isn’t registration fun. If the Pro Pinball tournament is super popular choice in the pre registration we do have the option of moving it to the Sunday night like INDISC did, we would rather not do that as it will allow for Sunday night flights for people but it is an option to give more qualifying time and to commit to a larger tournament for people and not conflict with the Womens qualifying.
The pre-registration ticket sale period is completed. The site was been shut for any further ticket sales until we process all of the pre-registrations.
The good news is that everyone who submitted in Wave 1 (Feb 12), Wave 2 (Feb 26) and Wave 3 - pre-registration (Mar 2) have been or will be issued all of their tickets they requested for the event. We will be making some slight changes to the Pro Pinball tournament to accommodate the demand, but otherwise all of the Wave 3 pre-registration players should be receiving an email over the next couple of days on how to process their transactions.
Once that is completed we will be putting the portal live again and those that didn’t get a chance at Wave 1 - Wave 3 ticket sales will be able to acquire their ticket until June 1 or until the tournament is fully sold out whichever comes first.
We appreciate your support throughout this process, we know that many of you did not submit into pre-registration as we had over 800 unique people that were trying to access the system in each of the two tries before and that is okay. Hopefully we earn your trust next year or maybe when the portal goes back live you will change your mind.
Either way we can’t wait to announce all of the great stuff we have lined up over the next number of months leading up to the show.
We will announce when the registration portal will be online again, and we have already have had debrief sessions to determine our next steps for the brand new registration process for next year.
Sorry for all of the trouble that has been caused but there were a number of factors outside of our control that allowed this process to not be successful.
All of the pre-registered competitors were sent their email today for instructions to process their requested tournament registrations. They will have until Sunday March 13, 2022 at 10:00PM MST to pay for their tickets.
After that we changeover the site and the rest of the tournament tickets and our 4 day passes will be available to the general public.
We again apologize for the registration issues on the site this year, we have done our best to make the process as good as we could and to ensure we met the overall demand for the tournaments we are hosting.
Look out for so many exciting announcements over the next few months we have a lot in store and looking forward to sharing all of the cool stuff for those that are looking to attend this year.
I posted this on FB as well, but do you mean MDT?
Up to 10:00pm in my time in Edmonton no idea if that is MDT or MST I am so confused not sure when the clocks turn lol…
