With that, the last Tilt Forums sneak peek into what’s currently being talked about and proposed among IFPA leadership. As always, everything is subject to change prior to the end of the year.
Since the release of WPPR v6.2 for the 2026 season, the IFPA has continued investigating ways to make the World Pinball Player Rankings more accurate for how we rank players across the globe.
These latest changes will be incorporated into WPPR v6.3 which will be implemented starting January 1, 2027.

Updated Certified rules for an event hosting multiple tournaments
- Any event where multiple tournaments are being held concurrently as part of that overall event will only be allowed to have ONE tournament eligible for Certified status across that series of events. Tournament Directors would make that choice upon submitting those events to the IFPA Calendar which one will be the Certified tournament. Please note restricted divisions such as Women’s events are not subject to this rule.

Updated Certified rules for events with direct play qualifying and direct play finals
- Events with direct play qualifying that choose to split games into groupings (typically this is split per era) must do so for both the qualifying and finals portions of the event.

Updated requirements for HYBRID format
- HYBRID Best Game events were previously required to offer exactly 4X the number of entries as there are unique titles included in the tournament. This rule has been updated to the following, with the number of entries available equal to the GREATER of the two calculations:
- 3X the number of unique titles included in the tournament -OR-
- 4X the number of scores that count in a player’s standing in the tournament.
