We’re going to be having (what I think is) the first Target Match Play event in our general area (run by @PinDaddy).
What kind of round scoring do people typically do for Target Match Play? 7/5/3/1? 3/2/1/0? 5/3/2/1? Something different?
Given your preferred points scheme, what target do you set? The first attempt at this for us is a weeknight event so ideally qualifying would be over after 5 or 6 rounds.

PATL is somewhat of the gold standard for target match play - they set a 25-point target, 3/2/1/0 scoring. Qualifying is from 11:00-9:00, deducting about an hour and a half or so for lunch, so 8.5 actual hours. From the last event, it seemed that most spots were full by around round 12, with the target being approx. the top 25% making finals. So figure about an average of 2 points/round to make the cut. So using a linear scoring system, take roughly your 2nd place score times your number of expected rounds to set a target.
With 7/5/3/1 - 5 x 5 or 6 = 25 or 30 points.
With 3/2/1/0 - 2 x 5 or 6 = 10 or 12 points.
With 5/3/2/1 - 3 x 6 (fudging the numbers for the bonus point) = 18 points.
