just-on-time!
Played this recently. I have very little experience on it so I donât know if the issue I encountered is a known one or not:
Hit the ball into the right saucer immediately after time expired in a mode (so wouldnât get the collect) with the drop target going up an instant after the ball passed by. After that, the ball just sat in the saucer forever. The display said to shoot the right saucer, but the ball was already in it.
Ball search kept running but the ball search never lowered the drop target, so the ball couldnât be freed. Had to tilt out and I want to say that even after that, the ball didnât drop out (because the drop target stayed up), so the game sat like that.
Might be a bug that needs squashing? @pinwizj ?
Fix for this bug is in the next update.
We have something similar that happens frequently on our copy, but on the left side. Ball gets stuck frequently behind the last inline drop target. Ball search never releases it nor does a tilt.
Does anybody else get the error that a 16GB Card is too small for the downloaded update file? Seems to write OK. Sent a Ticket to CGC but havenât received an answer as yet.
Just to make sure I was safe, I purchased a 32GB Card for the update, but it would be good to know.
Thanks
Goz
I used 32 gig no issues.
I thought I would be delighted with the update 1.02 as it included the ability to skip voice callouts with the flippers, which had been annoying me in the original 1.0 version. However, it turns out this wasnât my problem after all,as I then missed the call-outs - especially from the scoop! What I want is to be able to continue to play with the flipper buttons (ie eject the ball from the scoop) whilst letting the call-outs continue to sound.
If others are with me here, could the programmers make this an option in the settings with the next software update? @pinwizj - how do I actually communicate with the writers of the software to put my case?
Thanks, thatâs how I got around the problem, but my question, I believe, is still valid, as the 16GB card is recommended on the CGC update procedure - yet causes the error as described
âCouldâ is always possible, however thatâs not something I would support in any way.
The sounds and speech of the game are triggered to provide instant emotional feedback of what youâve accomplished. A random character quote happening while âother stuffâ is going on would be a confusing hot mess.
If you like the speech calls, resist the urge to hit both flippers, and let yourself enjoy the entertainment aspect of the game for a few seconds.
Iâve had issues in the past if the image written to the card is close to the capacity of the card. Not sure of the size of the pulp code, but that could be the issue.
Thanks for your insightful reponse @pinwizj, which I take on board.
I appreciate that the sound aspect of the machine is extremely important and therefore take your criticism of my recommendation as justified.
Thanks for a great game.
All the best
Goz
Thanks all for the rules and the game. I love it. Not good enough at it yet but still love it.
