Key gameplay elements
Jungle Encounters
A hurry-up mode triggered from the center playfield that awards points and gear like the “Knife,” “Hopper’s Badge,” or “The Binoculars” for completing specific shots.
Multiball modes
- Jungle Blast Multiball: Triggered by locking a ball in the lower right part of the playfield.
- Chopper Multiball: A two-phase multiball that starts with the team being hunted and ends with Dutch swimming in the river to escape.
Special Missions
-
Setting Traps: Hit trap targets across the playfield and then lock your score at the camp scoop.
-
Green Berets: Shoot the Reverso ramps to build value, then extract via the camp scoop.
-
Reviving crew members:
If the Predator eliminates a crew member, they can be revived at the scoop when the collect insert flashes.
WEAPONS AND AMMO
There are 6 weapons in the game, ranging from the Pistol to the legendary Minigun. For each upgrade you will be better prepared for facing the Hunter.
Shoot the 3 GUN Targets in the middle of the playfield to qualify a weapon collect in the Camp Scoop. Once collected you need to change the weapon in the left Camp
Reverso ramp to get it equipped.
Sweep the GUN Targets to collect AND equip a weapon in one go!
During the game the currently equipped weapon is displayed here. You start off in the jungle equipped with a simple handgun. Work your way through the jungle to increase your weapon power.
To survive all the Predator Attacks: First Encounter, If It Bleeds We Can Kill It and Troféo de los Hombres, you need some real fire power! Bring the Minigun and a full stack of ammo and things will look a lot better.
To use the weapon, just press the launch button. For each time you fire, ammo will decrease.
To use weapons, you need ammunition. Collect ammo in A-M-M-O lanes and from jungle target hurry-up triggered by left inlane. Maximum 5 clips of ammo can be carried at a time.
When you are fully stacked with ammo, every other A-M-M-O collect will award Bonus X! It can be wise to collect some multipliers before start using up the ammo again.
Each shot triggered by the launch button uses up one ammo clip.
Ammo can be used for a lot of things in the game, so use it wisely. The UI will tell you when the weapon is ready to use, so pay attention!
You can use the weapon to:
- Progress towards Special Missions
- Make progress IN Special Missions
- Score jackpots in multiballs
- Fight and find the Hunter
Using up all ammo will reset the currently equipped weapon and leave you with the Pistol again!
AMMO hurry-up
Right lower standup target, triggered by left inlane and left reverso
THE CREW
Dutch needs his crew to get out of the jungle! Collect the soldiers and Anna around the playfield. Every crew member improves the Special Missions (modes) by adding 0.5x to the scoring. Bringing the whole squad means a massive boost of points in every mission!
But once gathered you also need to protect your crew. Watch out as the Hunter will take every chance to take them out. Luckily, this is a pinball game and here the crew can be revived and return to action!
In normal game play crew inserts will blink red for any crew in need of revival.
During Predator Attacks the crew can be revived in the Camp Scoop when the Hunter has temporarily snuck away to lick its wounds (during the Search Phase).
Gathering the whole squad will get the Hunter’s attention. Prepare for Hunter
Multiball for some unmatched kill and revival action!
JUNGLE ENCOUNTERS
One of the main goals in the game is to get all the way through the jungle. Just like in the movie a lot of dangers await. Qualify Jungle Encounters by shooting the drop target guarding the Jungle (behind the right ramp). After the first one you will also have to shoot the Jungle Target (lower right stand-up target next to the Wrist blade reverso ramp) to qualify encounters.
Jungle Encounters are hurry-ups that can score big and award a useful Item if played perfectly. Shoot the Scorpion Ramp (Left ramp) to light up the three Scorpion tails. This will maximize the cash out score and award you an Item when shooting the Jungle. If time is running out, cash out by shooting the Jungle anyway to get the remaining score on screen and not to lose out completely. Either way you will be awarded with progress on the map in the centre of the playfield.
On the map there are also three bigger inserts with a blue outline. These encounters are special and are called Jungle Hunts.
Reaching the first Jungle Hunt (step 4) will award an Extra Ball.
PREDATOR ATTACKS
There are three different, but all lethal, encounters with the Predator on the way towards the final fight. They all play in a similar way, but they get increasingly more difficult. Bring your best crew and your biggest gun to stand a chance to (temporarily) beat the Hunter! Predator isn’t hiding. He’s hunting, and you’re the target.
if it Bleeds, We Can Kill It
You face the Predator head on. Score boosts stack as you track your prey. Land the third roving shot and flip to Dutch’s POV. Now it’s war. Slam the Predator bash toy, unload every grenade you’ve got. Push hard before time runs out.
Deadly Attack - First Encounter
Single-ball. High risk. You face the Predator head-on. Each time you find him, he rises to strike. Fail to hit him in time? He kills your crew. Revive them through the camp scoop, survive three attacks, and send the alien crawling into the trees. Fail? You’re just another skull on the pile.
El Cazador - Trofeo de los Hombres
QUALIFY AND START
Shoot the spinners in the inner orbit surrounding the Predator Nest to build up
for Predator Attacks. Shooting the drop targets in front of the creature helps as well.
Fill up the inserts representing the Predator sights to get the Hunters attention. You need to collect one or more crew members to qualify the Attack. Now the drop targets will stay down if knocked down. The movie’s legendary main theme will start mixed with a distinct heartbeat from the Hunter. Shoot him and the Attack is underway!
THE SEARCH PHASE
Shoot the turquoise and pink roving shots to find the Hunter. But better do it quickly because before you know it, it will return and start hunting your crew again (HUNT PHASE). If you find him, you have the advantage and have more time to shoot him before its first kill. If time runs out the creature will have the advantage and most likely take out a crew before you can say “sexual tyrannosaurus”.
REVIVING CREW
During the SEARCH PHASE any killed crew members can be revived in the Camp Scoop. You have must decide if you better spend your time reviving crew or finding the Hunter before he turns up and starts attacking you again!
THE HUNT PHASE
Be prepared because the Hunter will try to kill your crew one by one starting from the get-go. On screen you can see the timer for next kill counting
down and who is the victim. Shoot the Hunter to distract him and resetting the timer. Shoot him with the ball and with the equipped weapon (push
the launch button). It is wise to stock up with ammo before the fight and bring the biggest gun that you can find. Numerous hits are needed to
make him flee from the scene. Keep an eye on the ‘life meter’ on screen to know how well you do.
WIN OR LOSE
Wound the Hunter enough during the HUNT PHASE and you will win the mode and score big. Lose all your crew and you will lose the mode and the Attack ends.
SPECIAL MISSIONS
These are timed, high-stakes operations. Survive them all to face the Predator one-on-one.
QUALIFY SPECIAL MISSIONS
Shoot white arrows to qualify Special Missions. The currently selected mission has its name flashing at the lower part of the playfield. Shooting the scoop toggles the currently selected mission.
START SPECIAL MISSIONS
When Special Mission is qualified the yellow START MISSION insert is flashing at the right ramp. Shoot the ramp to divert the ball into the helicopter to start the mission. Remember to bring as many crew you can to increase scoring.
SPECIAL ITEMS
Winning a Special Mission awards one of the Special Items recognized from the movie. Pay attention to the Items, they can be a big help making progress through the game.
The Assignment
The mission goal is to disembark the whole crew in the jungle.
Shoot the spinners (3) in the game to make the chopper closing in to the ground and get ready for disembarking soldiers. Every time a spinner is hit the meters are counting down towards 0 where a disembark possible. The conditions are hard and there is only a limited amount of time to get them all down on the ground.
Every time the meter reaches zero from ramp shots another soldier is ready to
disembark. Shoot the right ramp to disembark all soldiers that have been
prepared. Either disembark them one by one or stack multiple soldiers for
disembark at once. It is your call. All is good as long as you manage to get them
into the jungle in time!
Make the final shot up the right ramp for the final confirmation that all soldiers are safely on the ground so the chopper can leave.
Green Berets
Shoot the two reverso ramps, left and right, to search for the crashed chopper with John Hopper and the Green Berets. Continue shooting the reversos (now yellow) in pairs Left/Right adds to the cash out of your discovery!
Once located you need to make the climb up the trees to actually find the
skinned bodies hanging from the trees! Make the climb three times to light up
the final mission shot in the right ramp!
Make the final shot up the right ramp to collect the Win in the Helicopter.
Setting Traps
Aim for all the stand-up targets in the game (4) to set a trap. You need to set 10 traps before the time runs out to catch the Hunter (temporarily). Shoot the camp bumper area to build up the
cash-out score.
Shoot pop bumpers to build up lookout points.
Set all the traps and the left reverso will light up for a final shot through the Camp to catch the
Hunter in the net and get the cash out!
The Hostage
HELP ANNA ESCAPE!
Shots are lit all over the playfield while the crew is making its way through the jungle.
Anna is considering when and where she will find a way to escape. Make a purple shot and
Anna escapes this way! If she gets caught, all shots get lit again. Make another shot to make
her escape again.
With the Hostage on the run the crew must follow and find here. Now only the route Anna took is lit, shoot this shot to catch her and get a good reward. Points will increase for every
time Anna is caught.
Hunter & Prey
BUILD TRAPS AND EVADE THE HUNTER!
Prepare the traps to eventually capture the Hunter. Shooting lit mode shots awards
progress through the mode to reach next stage. This mode is sequel and contains 5 stages with
different shots to progress:
- Building Traps (Inner loop spinners)
- Set Diversion (Drop Targets)
- Attacking (Reverso Ramps)
- Distracting (Standup Targets)
- Evading (Outer orbits)
Manage your way through all of the stages, by making enough mode shots for each stage, to
finally completing the mode in the Jungle.
Make the final shot into the jungle to evade the Hunter. Dutch falls into
the water and the epic end fight will eventually start.
Hunter Multiball
Playing as the Predator with the goal of killing all the soldiers. Hunter MB is
qualified for start in the right Wrist Blade Reverso Ramp after collecting all 6 crew members.
MULTIBALLS
Jungle Blast Multiball
LIGHT LOCKS & START MULTIBALL
Down the GUN targets to light LOCK at the top lock magnet reached via both left and right orbits. If you are lucky, you can get a sneak lock by dropping the ball into
the subway without lighting lock! One way of doing this is to hold up the upper right
flipper when the ball comes from a quick shot in the inner orbit around the
Predator.
Lock 3 balls on the minigun wire form under the army net and you are good to go. Epic MB intro awaits!
The goal is to score jackpots to fill up the extra special ammo meter for the Ol’
Painless in the upper left corner of the screen. Time will decrease the meter, so
you better fill it up and aim for the Super Jackpot before it drops again. The Super
is lit in the left and right orbits leading to the top magnet.
BLAIN REVIVE JACKPOT
Bring Blain into Jungle Blast MB to get a chance to score a special Revive Jackpot
in the left reverso. Blain dies in this legendary part of the movie, but you can
revive him and get awarded!
Get to the Choppa Multiball
LIGHT LOCKS & START MULTIBALL
Shoot the right ramp until LIGHT LOCK is lit.
Shoot right ramp again to lock the first ball in the Helicopter.
Shoot it a second time to lock ball 2 and to kick off GET TO DA CHOPPA! Multiball.
TABLES ARE TURNED
Shoot the inner orbit surrounding the Predator and the perspective will change into the thermal vision of the Hunter. Music is deranged and jackpots are lowered. But this only lasts for a few seconds before things go back to normal. But maybe there is a purpose of this. Perhaps there is something to gain if you change into this perspective right before… well maybe you can find out.
PHASE 1 – JUNGLE
Dutch and Anna are running in the jungle chased by the Hunter. Jackpots
are lit in the ramps and orbits for the first phase of Choppa MB. Make them
all to light the Super Jackpot in the Jungle. Get the Super Jackpot before
the timer is down at zero to score the Super and advance to Phase 2.
PHASE 2 - RIVER
This phase starts when Dutch falls down into the river and starts swimming. Keep swimming by shooting all the jackpots and qualify the Super Jackpot in the Chopper.
ADD-A-BALL
Lower Right Standup target is flashing blue for Add-A-Ball.
Camp Attack Multiball
LIGHT LOCKS & START MULTIBALL
The bumpers in the Camp Area is building up for Camp Attack Multiball. The bumpers can be
reached from below and from the top. When enough bumpers have been built up (50) the Camp
Attack MB is ready to start in the Left (Camp) Reverso Ramp.
BUILDING JACKPOT VALUE
Keep feeding the Camp bumpers to build the jackpot value.
JACKPOTS
Shoot the reverso ramps to collect jackpots. Shoot enough to lit up the Super Jackpot in the
Helicopter to blow it up! Blow up three Helicopters to light the MEGA jackpot at the lock magnet
at the top. But be quick, Supers and Mega Jackpots are timed!
