What a weekend at the lavish Delaware Pinball Collective! The 2023 CERTIFIED+ Mid-Atlantic Pinball Open was the first time we ever ran a “pump and dump” tournament, and I must say the players came, they pumped, and they dumped, all weekend long, to the tune of $16,000!!! 97 players battled it out across 2 days of qualifying in 3 different divisions (MAIN, CLASSICS, WOMENS). Once again we had players fly in from all across the U.S. to get a taste of competitive pinball in the First State.

The action was non-stop and fierce all weekend and the entire event ran with no major issues. We did lose a game in the first 20 minutes of qualifying, but we quickly replaced it and had no more game issues for the remainder of the weekend minus a few simple game repairs that were fixed in under 10 minutes. We over-staffed on scorekeepers, one scorekeeper per 3 games, and this made a HUGE difference in keeping the queues moving all weekend long with game queues averaging 2-3 players MAX including during the final 2 hours when the pumping intensifies! Only once did I see 4 players in queue and that was on Godzilla during the final hour.

Thanks to all the players for attending and a big thanks to all the volunteer scorekeepers who helped make this event such a huge success as well as our awesome techs who kept the games chugging along! We also have to give a big shout out to the Board of Directors of the Delaware Pinball Collective, without them there simply is no “lavish”.
