well maybe have an min level of player slots / player minimum?
say maybe 90-100? even if just for looks (ALL Circuit event have at least 100 player slots)
Now slots is better then players if you are going to have duplication on events on same days.
Now having more events do allow more room around duplication on events dates.
As for circuit points are earned? maybe they should be split across (not the same as IFPA points)
maybe some adder for having direct side tournaments that are part of the main event
maybe if the event tied to an show or not
number of players
number / % of players in playoffs (event like 24 with no playoffs get like 0 points) (expo where all players make playoffs kind of should be graded in an differnt way)
minimum number of games of that an player get’s to play before being eliminated (pump and dump does not count)
Since we’re trying to solve problems that aren’t actually problems… events that are on the SPC should be required to publicly stream some or all of qualifying and finals. These events are sometimes unavailable for live public viewing, making the events — which are supposed to the biggest in the sport of pinball — worth much less to Stern and to the sport in general.
I’ve attempted to live stream the OBX tournament before, it simply is not possible due to the fallout bunker level of internet connection available. The only way to do it there is record it and then post it later. Also that brings the assumption that someone at the event is capable/knows how to operate a live stream, which I am sure is not always the case.
Yeah I understand networking but working with a low speed gas station internet via ethernet doesnt fix it, and I aint paying for $150 a month to stream pinball.
I am not suggesting you buy $150 service to broadcast a once a year tournament. I’m simply saying that somebody who already pays for starlink service could bring it to the tournament to ensure its properly streamed. Another option could be 4g/5g hotspot, depending on the cell service quality in the area.
