So the DJP would be 4x?
@chuckwurt I’m not sure
If you have 2x playfield running and a 2x DJP ready, it will be 4x yes. But the screen will only say 2x. So you’ll have to do the math in your head for the additional 2x
The first screen, before the collect, shows the unmultiplied jackpot. The second screen, after you make the shot, shows the full multiplied value. Doesn’t stay on the screen long, but it always shows it.
Yeah I have seen this a bunch -
Ill get a screen saying DJP increased to 4X, but then the next DJP says X3. Happens at all sorts of multiplied values. (not related to 2x playfield).
If you have both the spinner charge up and add-a-ball lit and you’re in multiball, you’re in good shape if you want to activate both of them with the action button. If you want to activate only one of these, you’re not in such good shape.
Why is that? If you want Add-A-Ball, tap the button, if you want Heat Ray, hold the button.
Had a frustrating session on Godzilla yesterday, where I felt locked-out of Battles and couldn’t figure out if it was a bug or what to do. Now I see they are tied to cities by latest rev., and I must say, I recommend the designers (cough @sk8ball) to loosen up on the rules for playing Battles or having the game teaching players what-next to progress Battles.
Loosen up could be that progression towards next Battle is open before changing city. And that this play also lights Select city. Atleast early in game.
Someone please…
What progression on tier 1 Battles is needed to qualify tier 2 Battles?
When a tier 1 Battle is selected, is it correct that that is the only one playable that city? That, if not completed, you can always relight it (single ball/no priorty modes)? And that it will auto select when you hit the scoop?
So, completing a Battle is the “Battle locked out” state. Until you change city?
What is the easiest (recommended) path to the (re-)light Select city? If and when your play is progression though Battles.
Does Planet x qualify on completed Battles only? Or is it enough to start or half progress them.
Are there sneaky exceptions to Battle lit progression on the ramps being available? What single ball play stuff locks this out other than Battles themselves.
Suppose you want to charge up the spinner, but don’t want add-a-ball. Guess what, you’re getting add-a-ball too. At least on the one I played.
I’m not following. Press and hold for heat ray. If you have add a ball ready too. The press and hold will only do heat ray. If you tap it, it only give add a ball. No heat ray.
All the answers you seek are in the rulesheet above but I’ll help you.
See all tier one battle rules above for how much you need to complete to have tier two available.
Yes. When you pick a tier one in that city, that’s the only one you can play in that city until you’ve at least done enough in it to qualify tier 2. If you fail to complete tier one, the scoop is immediately lit to rematch the monster unless you did enough to play a tier 2. In that case you have to hit ramps again (the signs above the ramps will re light). Remember in Tokyo, there is only tier one battles. So if you stay in Tokyo, you’re going to keep rematching the same monster until you’ve beat it.
Once you’ve beaten a battle in Tokyo, you’re locked out of battles until the next city. In the following cities, until you’ve qualified a tier 2, you have to keep battling the same monster. After Tokyo, you have the ability to play a tier 1 and 2 battle. After that is done, no more battles until you change cities again.
Play any of the monster monitor features (Tesla, tank, bridge, monster battle). Once you’ve done any of those, select city lights. When in a city other than Tokyo, you have to play a tier one and two mode to light the raid insert and get city select lit again. So after Tokyo it’s easiest probably to play for tank or bridge to light city select.
Planet X has nothing to do with completing battles. Has everything to do with traveling cities. Just travel through all 4 cities then Planet X will be lit at the scoop. It’s the 5th city basically.
Rampage mode. No other single ball play mode lock you out of battle lit progression that I know of.
Thanks. Wanna be prep’ed before going out to play that one again. Cheers, The mode playing guy.
I’m guessing it’s a mechanical issue with the action button then and that what you describe is normal behavior.
Just added this info to the “rules overview” so it would be more clear to newcomers.
I think this is correct, though I also think there are at least a couple of other circumstances that stifle progressing toward or starting monster battles (please correct me if I’m wrong - also, I have a pro, so possible some things may differ from Premium/LE):
Impact: no way to strategically try to start monster fight to stack before starting multiball
Idea: Perhaps made shot could at least give progress toward kaiju battle qualification so fight is available at scoop after bridge attack ends
Idea #1: Allow player to pick and start a monster battle when you hitting the scoop and then tank multiball starts. In current execution, player who is going for monster fights is somewhat punished for qualifying a multiball
Idea #2: If Idea #1 is overpowered, make it a strategic choice: When tank and monster battle are lit, player has the choice to start tank without the monster battle or start the monster battle at the cost of unqualifying tank, resetting its progress back to zero.
Those two instances are correct as well. Good call.
Are there certain situations in which the magnet doesn’t grab the ball after qualifying locks? Mine will sometimes just fling the ball instead of grabbing it.
Just wanted to chime in and say that the 0.90 release makes this game so much better. It felt a little light on strategy before it, but I’m loving the decision making involved in changing cities. Should I hang out here in Tokyo and tear it apart? Or progress further to advance through cities. And of course, super fun to take a gigantic carnage bonus or two into Planet X (can this be 2x’d by the way? I’ve never had an ally ready…next time I’ll try and save one).
Makes me more excited to find out what’s behind the three other wizard mode inserts!
Scoring bug:
2x playfield was lit at scoop
Defeated Ebirah and ball deflected off pop bumper into scoop. Animation for DJP being raised from 1x to 2x was played.
Ball ejected out of scoop and immediately shot into building for DJP.
DJP animation played showing 11 million and 2x value for the shot, upon making the shot it only showed my earned value as 11 million although I should have earned 44 million. I am not sure if the value was calculated correctly towards my score, just sharing that it’s not correctly displaying the value of the shot.
I’ve noticed similar things (first shot to DJP immediately after beating a monster and seeing the video show the increase in multiplier, the next DJP shot will not be +1; hitting the scoop with rodan lit will start rodan but will not multiply the carnage bonus when immediately after you choose to switch cities)
Copied from wiki above: this is not my experience. I’m trying to get to planet x but it seems to me the only way to qualify the ability to change cities is monster battles. I’ve had all monster monitors flashing in the second or third city and still not been able to change until defeating or making sufficient progress against the current monster. Am I missing something?
