Yes, plenty of options. My favourite is going for a volley for the third Trooper-lock. Preferably with Hallowed Be Thy Name just started (that’s the only mode i stack with Trooper-MB).
Holding up the mini-flipper can be deadly. But not very often. It is a bit disappointing getting a STDM. But I think it’s worth the risk. Usually i push the machine a bit if I have to get the uppermost drop target. But this varies a bit from machine to machine, I guess.
I should start practicing sweeps. It could be doable if you sort of drop-catch the ball towards the drop targets. I will give it a few tries…
I was watching a couple guys on youtube make it to run to the hills. I was wondering how they are able to hold up the left bottom flipper and still flip the upper left flipper and same with the right
“Flipper staging”. A lot of games with multiple flippers have the ability to “stage” the flippers, meaning you can press the flipper button in partially which will engage the switch enough to flip the top the flipper, but not the bottom flipper. If you need to flip the bottom flipper, simply finish pressing the flipper button all the way in and it will engage the bottom flipper.
You’ll find some location games are not adjusted well enough to stage flip or, especially with Iron Maiden, even stage in reverse where the bottom flippers flip and the upper flipped stay up. The latter is particularly not helpful at all. Most operators will adjust this if you let them know.
Quarantine success! Not only still healthy, but finally made it to Run To The Hills!!
Such a great game, @sk8ball. Keep up the good work on sweet pins!
Edit: just did some tests with the glass. Seems like the add-a-balls are not unlimited. After adding three balls, collecting all the lit shots does nothing. So the wiki is incorrect. Would be nice if someone else could confirm.
Another possible bug happened to me today. Collected aces high super jackpot right now when the second ball drained and it did not give me the soul shard. So slight grace period for super but none for soul shard?
Yeah it’s a known quirk. Basically if I had to guess the game checks to see if you have the requirement when multiball ends (immediately). Since you didn’t get a super, it doesn’t light the soul shard. Getting the super during grace period doesn’t seem to cause the game to re-check. Same with Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner
Have a request for the premium. When the ball goes up the left ramp for the sarcophagus lock it occasionally gets stuck in that hole on the U turn behind the lock. Once you shake it loose (after the search) it goes in the sarcophagus lock but it doesn’t give you credit. Once it shoots the ball out on the next search their is no way to lock the mummy ball again until you drain. Perhaps this is just on my machine but is there a way to give credit for the lock on the search if the ball is really there? Basically I’m hitting the ramp too clean and it bounces off the guardian and into this hole.
Ball is most likely getting hung up on the switch. Try adjusting it (in that section of the ramp) to require less force to close. I still have that occur periodically but a nice slap to the back side of the cabinet will free it 90% of the time. If you don’t unstick it before ball search it does cause some game confusion but I could have sworn it allowed me to shoot the left ramp again to qualify the lock. Maybe it was a tomb award though but I know it opened back up on that ball.
Best fix, is just preventing the sticking from happening. Can take some time to dial in so be patient with it.
Definitely not a patient guy haha. One of the very few things that can be frustrating with this game is not being able to check progress prior to launching the ball. Would be nice to know how many Eddie letters needed, what mystery level award is lit, revive spinner and cyborg progress. Basically the screen that is displayed through the game. Any plans to put this in the next code update?
