Is this an event that sells out? I’d like to come up but wouldn’t be able to make that decision until March.

Yes, the VIP passes normally do sellout, not as fast as many US shows due to the number available but last year they did sellout. The great thing is that we have opened up an option for in show registration, it does cost a little more to go that way but at least it is an option for those that can’t commit right away. The only restriction would be if the tournament reaches over 240 competitors but we don’t anticipate that much uptake considering in past year it has been around 150.

Small Update to previous post:

VIP Tickets will be going on sale for our Annual YEGPIN - Pinball and Arcade Expo at 10:00AM MST on Sunday December 15th, 2019.

The VIP tickets sold out last year for this event so you can’t say you haven’t been warned. There will be 150 tickets available this year as we have increased the amount of tickets due to the overwhelming support for our pinball tournaments and access to the invite only VIP party on Friday.

We have also added a new VIP ticket for those that really want to focus just on the tournaments.

Here are your options this year:

Ultimate VIP Pass - $150 (100 available)

3 Day Entrance to YEGPIN
Limited Edition VIP Laminate Pass and Lanyard designed by Jackson Gee
Free Registration for CPC, Classics tournaments
2020 YEGPIN T-Shirt designed by Jackson Gee
Exclusive YEGPIN Bag
Exclusive YEGPIN keychain collectible
Limited Edition YEGPIN Tournament Pin-Wipe
20 YCPC or Classics Pinball Tournament Entries
1 Women’s Canadian Pinball Championship Entry Card (if applicable)
Registration for CPC, Classics, Women’s (if applicable) pinball tournaments
Access to VIP Party (Friday)
Exclusive VIP Entrance, 1hr head start on show floor on Fri-Sun

Hardcore Tournament VIP Pass - $150 (50 available)

3 Day Entrance to YEGPIN
Limited Edition VIP Laminate Pass and Lanyard designed by Jackson Gee
Free Registration for CPC, Classics pinball tournaments
20 Pinball Tournament Entries (used for CPC, Classics)
1 Pro Pinball Tournament Entry Card
1 Women’s Canadian Pinball Championship Entry Card (if applicable)
Entry Access to VIP Party (Friday)
Exclusive VIP Entrance, 1hr head start on show floor 1 hour early on Fri-Sun

Please note: The format has changed for the Women’s Canadian Pinball Championships. It will now be a two day card based event exactly like the Pro Pinball Tournament, these two tournaments will run on the same machines on Friday and Saturday. We are really wanted to support the growth of Women’s pinball so one card entry will now be included in the VIP packages for those that have designated themselves in that category.

Already, with the initial list of tournament machines that have been submitted, this looks like the best lineup ever. If you happen to miss out on the VIP tickets for this event, you may still be able to still register at the tournament desk for the Main and Classics tournaments at the show as long as we have not reached capacity. However, there is no guarantee so don’t hesitate to be a part of the biggest pinball tournament and show in Canada!!!.

Please visit www.yegpin.com for more information.

Note: For those the many of you that have reached out to me personally if this will be a Stern Circuit event, you heard it from Josh, look like we are in, just awaiting for the final announcement. Regardless, the quality of the experience, standard of machines and prize pool of the tournament is at least on par with any of the current Stern Circuit events so you won’t be disappointed!!!

The debate is that there are 23 events listed there I have not heard of an expansion of Stern Circuit events, so right now the show sits we are at 22nd on the list and from my math out of the running. I don’t want to presume anything at this point and I don’t want to false advertise as ticket sales go ahead on Sunday and have people disappointed if that was the major influence for them attending. We would love the opportunity but until the final list is announced that is our stance.

I know the calendar year still needs to wrap up, but I think your odds are looking pretty good.

V. Criteria for Eligibility

  1. The top 15 of the 20 PAPA Circuit events held in the current season with the highest average WPPR point value over the past 3 years will be invited to be on the Stern Pro Circuit for the following season. The lowest 5 events of those 20 based on average WPPR point value will be dropped from the Stern Pro Circuit the following season, and replaced with the next biggest 5 events. Tournament Directors are welcome to pass on having their event included in the Stern Pro Circuit, in which case we will move down the list to the next biggest event until the schedule is filled.

That black line you see between event 15 and event 16 is the ‘cut line’ for the existing SPC events. The bottom 5 will not be included in the 2020 season.

YEGPIN will be in. We just can’t finalize anything until the last two SPC events pay their fees, since both of those events would stay on the SPC for next season.

Ticket sales go live from the YEGPIN - 2020 Pinball and Arcade Expo at 10:00am MST, do miss out on your chance to snag one of our VIP tickets!!!

The preferred hotels have now been posted onto the site, we are happy to partner with Best Western and Ramada for this years show. We have some awesome rates so please check out the website and book ASAP before they are all gone!!!

Tickets sales have been fast and furious over the past couple of days, there are only 10 VIP tickets in total left for this Stern Circuit event, there are a total of 189 people registered (VIP’s, Volunteers and Donors) for the Canadian Pinball Championship and Classic Pinball Tournament which I believe would make this the biggest tournament ever held in Canada if everyone participates. Be a part of Canadian pinball history and ensure you get your VIP ticket for the show!!!

Once these VIP tickets are sold out there will be no more, however, you will still be able to purchase a weekend pass online or day tickets at the door and there will also be an opportunity to purchase a registration for tournament at the day of event, as long as we do not go over 240 registered competitors.

Heya Question -

Is the prize pool fixed at the values listed for the pump-and dump Main event CPC?

Or is the prize pool variable % payout based on entries sold/played?

Thanks,
-cAyle

We base the payouts for all tournaments on the previous proceeds for YEGPIN each year. In the past years we have consistently paid out at least 125 percent of what we take in for the tournament. In other words we subsidize the tournaments with liquor, merchandise, sponsorships and public ticket sales for event. That payout doesn’t include any of the overhead expenses such as the rental of the space, purchase of equipment, IFPA fees, Stern Circuit fees etc, which all gets paid for by the overall show, so the tournament is a beneficiary of no overhead costs either. If there was a major discrepancy we do have the ability to raise the payouts but we can’t lower them.
