Pbal Gallery Budapest forced to shut down

One of the coolest pinball locations I know is forced to shut down because of gambling laws.

Facebook post about the impending shutdown (English at the end):

Sorry, I guess there’s not much to talk about here, I’m just venting. This sort of thing pisses me off, and there’s not much I can do about it, because it’s not my country, and I don’t know anything about how those bureaucratic processes work over there.

I was there in early June, and it was a very cool place.

However, my friend in Budapest has told me that they won their court case and are hoping to re-open in August of this year.

Good News!

I wonder if this will mean an improvement in Zen Pinball, as if I recall correctly, they’re located right near this museum. That way, they can have more opportunities for research.

I’m really glad this took a turn for the best and that the museum can live on and host the Hungarian Pinball Open in November. It has been sold out within a few hours, so I guess there’s no lack of support for this great location.
