The MAGfest PAPA Circuit Event will be held on January 4th through 6th (show through the 7th) at MAGfest (Music and Gaming Festival) held at the Gaylord National Harbor convention center in Maryland just outside of Washington, D.C. and across the Potomac river from Alexandria, Virginia.
Similar to Pinburgh sign-ups, the hotels in the National Harbor sell out within a few hours after the blocks become available. This year MAGfest has announced a date and time when registration will open for buying a show pass. This will also include the ability to reserve a room from one of the National Harbor hotel block rates via a link provided in your show pass email confirmation. Reserving a room will not be possible without going through the show registration method, at least not initially. But considering they will sell out fairly quick, we recommend that interested players that want to attend MAGfest buy their show pass and reserve a room during this time.
The MGM National Harbor casino and hotel is also now open with shuttles between it and the convention center (it’s maybe 1/3 mile away and walkable as well but it will be winter).
Another thing to remember is that early bird prices for the show pass are far less expensive than waiting later in the year to purchase passes. Initial prices are only $59 for all 4 days, then the price goes to $69, $79, and finally $85.
FYI - it looks like the hotel information email will go out within 24-72 hours after pre-registering, so get your show pass and then you’ll get the link for hotel within a few days. Probably spacing things out to avoid crashing hotel web-sites as well.
Hopefully I’ll get one of the early hotel registration links. Registered at about 4:15 today after site was down for a while. Balcony room was great last year. Thanks to the other Tim Sexton who registered the hotel at the same time.
The early bird prices sold out within an hour. Price is either $79 now or the final $85 for the 4 day pass.
Also, since they sold so many tickets, there is a good chance they could sell out. So if you want to attend MAGfest to play in the PAPA Circuit Event, I suggest buying tickets as soon as possible to ensure you can enter the show.
