Video Games: We summarize some union and layoff activity in the video game space, note the Olympics ending their partnership with Nintendo and Sega, discuss the downturn for Twitch, and cover Xbox’s major presence planned for Gamescon.
Pinball: We go over DPX providing images relating to their Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland pinball machine, answer a listener question relating to Haggis, talk about our hands-on experience with John Wick Pinball, and discuss what we’d like to see out of the industry over the next 12 months.
Video Games: We summarize Square Enix and Embracer seeing drops in sales, talk about the abomination that is the Borderlands movie, note GTA6 will not be available via subscription service (at least at first), discuss Krafton buying Tango Gameworks, note the Switch 2 is rumored to be delayed, mention Flame Fatales is now happening with Games Done Quick, and end with a listener email.
Pinball: We go over the teases for Jersey Jack Pinball’s Avatar game and Stern Pinball’s The Uncanny X-Men, plus talk a bit about Stern trying home games again (this time in partnership with Costco) and then go over several listener emails.
Video Games: We summarize problems with the physical edition of Outer Wilds: Archaeologists Edition, the end of the Visions of Mana developer, Monster Hunter meaning no more dinosaur games, Witcher 4 in full production, problems with Star Wars Outlaws on PS5, the cancellation of Blue Protocol, Foamstars and its scrubbing bubbles, and World of Warcraft seeing the light on past mistakes.
