Hi, ok great, will do so. I really struggle with multimeter usage, I often don’t know what setting to put the meter on and do t k ow how to interpret the numbers. What setting should I put the meter on to test the switches? Thanks!
If you’re new to using a multimeter there are a number of good tutorials on youtube to help you with the basics.
For continuity testing, you should put the meter onto the audible continuity setting (which typically looks like a wifi icon turned on it side, or perhaps a speaker icon), place one lead on each lug of the switch, then close the switch and listen for the beep. If your meter does not have an audible continuity setting, put the meter onto the lowest Ω setting and look for a reading of close to 0 Ωs — this represents no resistance to the connection.
